It was move in day! Roxanne had gotten herself a nice little cabin out at Dragonbreath Falls. It wasn't much, just a little one room, loft style cabin, but it was hers. Hers and she didn't have to share it with anyone she didn't choose. A real, solid tether to this time and place. Naturally, she flew out to it, early one morning. The cabin itself was in good condition, made of what looked like very sturdy wood with a well attached metal roof. It had a relatively good amount of privacy but not hard to find if one was looking. She could picture the porch with a chair or maybe a swing. Walking in, she looked around appreciatively.
The inside was decently spacious. The kitchen area was to the left in a sort of alcove and included a sink and some cabinets, the countertops appeared to have been sanded down somehow. The fire place was on the back wall, centered. The loft stretched out from the back wall forward to about 6ft, the stairs that lead to it running up the wall on the right. Roxanne smiled, satisfied. She could picture a sitting area under the loft, around the fireplace, and small dining area in sort of the center of the room. It would take time, but she could really make this place into a home.
Roxanne had brought a few things with her and began to set those out. She took a rolled mat, made of thick sheep's wool and leather, and stretched it out upstairs in the loft. A wool blanket was laid over that with a feather pillow placed at one end. She brought a set of smooth, wooden dinnerware and eating utensils, along with cups and a pitcher. All of which she tucked away in her new cabinets. Knowing she'd need to start cutting her own wood, the half demon had also brought an axe, which she placed against the wall by the door.
After doing all of that, which didn't take very long at all, Roxanne was left standing awkwardly with nothing else she could really do for the time being. She wasn't sure what to do now. She really needed furniture but had no way to make it herself and hauling it out here would be such a pain. Perhaps Aria would help but in the mean time she had, gods forbid it, down time. Refusing to just stand around and do nothing, the half demon left the house to explore the area a bit.
The land around the house was stunning, wild since the city didn't stretch this far. The falls themselves were gorgeous, the water cascading down with such force, yet the mist mixed with the sunlight to make rainbows. Dangerous and beautiful, rough and elegant. Something she could relate to personally. She wandered about in the tall grass, taking note of the wild herbs, berries, and flowers that grew here. After a bit, she stumbled upon a deer carcass. The stench was awful, so she took out her poison mask, tying the strands carefully under her ponytail. She was in her working attire, so crouching wasn't a problem as she examined the bones that were left. This was an old kill, weeks probably. It was mostly bones, a few still clinging to bits of fur like virgins to their bedsheets. The bones that were clean had been bleached a lovely ivory by the sun.
Roxanne gathered all the bones that were left: 6 ribs, two long femurs, some of the smaller connecting bones, and the skull with the antlers still attached by some miracle. She hauled all of it back to the house because she had an idea. She spent a few hours cleaning the ones nature hadn't taken care of, skillfully scrapping the bits of fur and flesh off with her knife and washing them in water from the falls. She then laid them out in a patch of sunlight. Satisfied with that, she took one of the longer rib bones and began to work it with her knife, cleaning out the marrow. The demoness had decided to take up bone carving.

Ellaria sighed heavily as she walked, it had been only a few days since she had come to Nova and waltzed into The Springs. She had found a comfortable tavern in the third district with cheap wages to spend her nights, but had yet since been able to find anything in the city to do as far as setting out towards a new future. So Ellaria did what she always did when she didn't know what to do. She went walking with her map, Crowley, and a new sketching journal since the other had been ruined to the point she could no longer draw on the pages. She had decided previously that she would head towards Dragon's Breath Falls. Nova had plenty of nature outlining it's city to explore, and while she was here Ellaria decided she'd explore all of it. And the falls were her first pick at random.
While walking Crowley had himself coiled around her shoulders, pleading with her for the hundredth time to forgive him. She was still irked at him over what had happened at the Springs. "Elly please, I was only trying to help. I may have gotten a little over excited, and said a little too much, but I swear it was only in your best interest. I wasn't trying to be a traitor. But do you know how long it's been since I've had someone to talk to that wasn't you. And not that I don't love you Darling. But. Well I'm lonely." He gave her the best puppy dog eyes any snake around a snake could manage. Ellaria sighed, running her hands through her long black black hair that she had decided to wear free of any kind of decoration or up-do.
"I already said drop it Crowley. I'm over it. It was just ultimately embarrassing, just next time we run into people and there's someone who can understand you, tell them about yourself instead of me. Okay?" The snake bobbed his head, nodding in agreement with her, as he then flicked his tongue out against her cheek. A sign of affection he had shown ever since the first time they had argued. Ellaria chuckled and continued on their path.
At one point she ended up taking a wrong turn and instead of winding up at the falls alone she found herself in a small clearing, occupied by a quaint little cottage. Upon further observation she saw a girl sitting outside carving bone. Crowley of course noticed her right away and Ellaria shot him a look that said "Don't even." Considering she was still a little irked, Crowley found it in his best interest not to make a fuss.
Ellaria felt slightly awkward and didn't exactly know what to do, so she waved and chuckled nervously, "Sorry, didn't mean to barge in on your home, it seems I have taken a wrong turn. I was trying to find a quiet place to draw at the waterfall."

Roxanne had been working on the bone for awhile when the sound of footsteps, breaking brush, and a voice caught her attention. By the sounds of it, it was one person, not far off. A woman, even, who sounded as though she was talking to someone but her ears didn't lie. One set of footsteps. How curious. She considered going to see who it was traipsing about here by their (seemingly) lonesome self, but then realized that the noises the woman was making were getting louder. Whoever this woman was, they were coming her way anyway.
No sooner had the thought crossed her mind than out of the woods came a girl, a phioric by the smell of her, and her snake. Roxanne assumed it was her snake, anyway, because how many other people did one see just carrying random snakes around? She didn't look old, but you never could tell a person's age by their face in Nova. A certain archmage came to mind, in particular. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Roxanne gave the newcomer a smile as the girl explained her situation. "No need to apologize, really. As long as you're not coming out here armed to the teeth intending to attempt to kill, I don't mind visitors," she paused, thinking about that last statement. "Actually, depending on my mood, I wouldn't mind those kinds of visitors either, though it wouldn't end well. For them," she added, laughing.
Upon hearing that the phioric was looking to draw the waterfall, Roxanne stood, setting her stuff aside and brushing off her clothes. "First, proper introductions. I'm Roxanne, welcome. Second, follow me." she said, grinning. She would lead Ellaria around to the back of her house, stepping through some overhanging willow branches, and pointing up. The backyard had no trees, nothing to get in the way of the spectacular view of the crashing falls and misty rainbows.

Crowley let out a hiss of laughter. "Elly? Armed? And Dangerous. Now that's a-Oh um. Ignore me Elly." He had been cut off by a death glare from Ellaria before she turned back to the red head.
"No, that is not something you have to worry about with me. I have one dagger but that's mainly for self defense if the situation calls for it." She said spreading her arms out, showing that the only weapon she acquired was the blade she spoke of in a small sheath around her waist. Her black fitted clothing did not give way to hide weapons, although she did wear a cloak, the only things in the pockets would be drawing charcoal and her drawing journal.
She lowered her hands, "I'm Ellaria, and this is my companion, Crowley." She said gesturing to the albino python around her shoulders. She looked back at Roxanne suspiciously for a moment when she had said to follow her, but after a moment and a gentle nudge from Crowley she stepped forward and followed behind her to the backyard of the cottage. Once there she couldn't help but gasp. She had seen spectacular views before. But the sight of Dragon Breath Falls was absolutely breath taking. A rare joyous smile graced the pale girl's lips as she turned to look at the girl standing next to her. "You really won't mind if I sit here and draw?"

Roxanne gave Crowley a curious at the odd hissing sound he made that sounded a lot like laughter. She knew phiorics could understand their companion animals. Aria even was able to understand all animals. So she had to assume that the snake found something amusing but without knowing what, she shrugged and simply returned her attention to Ellaria. She raised a brow as the girl assured her she was unarmed save for a single dagger, raising her arms even to prove the point. Roxanne laughed a bit. "Well, that's good news, I suppose. Though, in my experience, sometimes the least armed individuals are the most dangerous," she said, referring to magic users. The half demon wasn't at all worried though, seeming to be quite at ease in her home. Not that Ellaria would know what she was, her kind weren't common after all.
She nodded as the phioric introduced first herself and then her companion. "I wish I could talk to animals but to even have a chance, I'd probably have to take a stroll in Manna Gorge and that would more likely result in my death than any sort of rare gift," Roxanne said thoughtfully. "Well, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ellaria, Crowley. I just moved in today, honestly, so the place is still pretty empty. What brings you to Nova?" she said as they walked around the house.
The half demon grinned at Ellaria's reaction to the seeing the falls. "I rather enjoy it too. There's just something about the ferocity of the falls, the beauty of the mist and rainbows, and the calmness of the lake that is absolutely enchanting," Roxanne said, sighing happily. When Ellaria asked her if she minded that she stay a bit, the half demon shook her head. "Not at all. Stay as long as you like. What do you draw with?" she said, curiosity coloring her last question.

Ellaria continued to walk around, looking for the prefect place to sit and capture the falls, as she did so she continued to talk. "It is an interesting ability, although I can only talk to snakes and other creatures affiliated to the species, though I've never encountered them personally. Though Crowley has been my main companion for the past 25 years. I found him when he was just a hatchling"
Crowley made a soft hissing noise, "I'm going to go find something to eat. I trust you can get on without me. I'll be back shortly."
Ellaria shrugged and said, "Go ahead, but if you aren't back when I get ready to leave, you're getting stuck out here." Crowley hissed again, knowing she wouldn't really leave him, with that he uncoiled himself and slithered off back into the forest to hopefully find a rabbit. She turned back to Roxanne, "He's off to find him some food. But as you were saying about Mana Gorge, I wouldn't walk through there either. I'm very pro life you see." She chuckled, But yes I'm new to Nova myself, I've been travelling for sometime now, and decided that I could use some stability. Somewhere new where no one knows me. Crowley has been calling it a fresh start. What about you? What brings you to the infamous Land of Nova?"
Ellaria was beginning to shock herself, she was carrying on a conversation with another person, without the help of her snake, and she wasn't tripping over her words. It was a miracle. She finally ended up settling on a nearby rock that captured the perfect view of the falls crashing into the water while the rays of sun shown through the mist creating a plethora of tiny rainbows. Sitting down she looked up at the red haired girl as she questioned her about her materials. "Here I'll show you." She said as she pulled out a black suede bundle tied together with the same material string. When she opened it, it would reveal cylindrical charcoal blocks in about a dozen different colors, including a set of neutrals. Some of them almost to nubs. She then pulled out her new drawing journal, which had yet to be drawn in. "I can also draw in ink but I have to have a desk. Plus you don't get the nice shading ability with ink as you do charcoal." She smiled again as she began to relax in her element, opening up the journal to the first page while pulling out one of the charcoal blocks. She then began to sketch the scene before her, carefully and beautifully. It was one of the few skills Ellaria possessed that she took pride in.

Roxanne watched as Ellaria walked around, seemingly looking for something. "I know a thing or two about phiorics but you're right; it is an interesting ability. Crowley sounds like a wonderful companion. I don't do so well with companions, of any kind, myself," she said conversationally.
She listened as the girl told her Crowley was going hunting, thinking that wasn't a bad idea. "Hm. Food. Yes, I suppose I should also go hunting soon," she mused. Roxanne made an 'aaah' noise as Ellaria explained that she was new to Nova, looking for a fresh start. "That explains why I haven't seen you around before. Nova's great for fresh starts. A lot of people come here looking for that. Me personally? Well, I suppose you could say I've always been here, in one sense or another," she said, not wanting to admit that she was Fated. It wasn't well looked upon.
Roxanne watched intently as Ellaria insisted on showing her. The girl settled down on a rock, pulling out a journal and a pouch full of colored sticks. Charcoal, of course. "How interesting. I've heard of people using charcoal for such purposes but never have seen it myself. How do you suppose they get the colors? When I char wood it's always black," the half demon mused, watching Ellaria work. The girl was very good; it was obvious after only a few minutes what she was drawing.

Ellaria couldn't help but laugh, "Oh yes Crowley is an interesting companion. My only companion. You see. I don't do so well with people. The fact that I am even speaking to right now is a miracle. If it weren't for Crowley's insistence to break out of my shell, and if it had been even a year ago. I would have turned around and pretended I hadn't even seen you."
As she finished the basic large outlines of the picture, she started coloring in certain areas then began smudging areas of drawing, blending the colors together. She tilted her head, slightly perplexed, if she had just moved in, how had she always been there? And in a sense? Ellaria shrugged feeling that bit was none of her business, if Roxanne felt the need to tell her, she figured she would.
She picked up another charcoal block, slightly relieved for a change of subject, she wasn't exactly skilled in the art of communication and she didn't want the chance for the conversation to turn personal. She had given the heir that she didn't care, but she was still ashamed of the fact that she had been excommunicated from her home. And even though she was set in her ways, on more than one occasion she had been laughed at for her opinions. She cleared her throat spinning the charcoal in her fingers. "Well from what I hear, for art purposes, charcoal is ground down, packed, and pressed to form these blocks, and not all charcoal is black. Some of it actually turns out to be grey when burned. When it's grey you can add dye like one would use to make paints and such. It's then packed and pressed like black charcoal and then set to dry. That's how the process was explained to me anyway."

Roxanne listened as Ellaria talked about Crowley and how she was generally uncomfortable with people, smiling a little. The half demon certainly could relate. "I understand that. I don't really get along so well with people either, generally speaking, so I don't have any companions. I have one close friend and that's it. Keeps life simple, less to care about." she said, pausing to think for a moment. "That's not to say it isn't a lonely life though. Most people arn't comfortable with my kind, though." she added, seeming to come to a decision of sorts. It was best to get the rough details out of the way before she got attached, in case Ellaria wanted to run away screaming.
She watched intently as the phioric continued to draw, impressed with her artistic skill. Roxanne noticed that Ellaria looked a bit confused and she wondered if it was something she had said, or even hadn't said, or just something to do with the art. "Something bothering you?" she asked, curious, seriously doubting it was the art since that seemed to be going well.
The half demon's eyes tracked the spinning charcoal for a moment before shifting her gaze back to Ellaria as she explained about the charcoal. It sounded fairly simple, really, but was clearly alot of work for such a small block of color. "That's interesting. I've never heard of anything like that but it seems like a decent sort of hobby. Time consuming and productive. Such a lot of work though, for something so small," she mused. "I just started bone carving today, actually. I've had a lot more free time lately than I used to and thought a hobby would be a good idea," she said, explaining what she was doing when Ellaria had arrived.

Ellaria paused wiping her hands on her pants, for one to free them of the color so she could smudge a different one, and for two to pause her art work for a moment. She looked up at Roxanne scrupulously, not out of fear but more so in observation. "What do you mean you're kind? Ah, That sounded rude. But I can sympathize, not exactly for being Phioric, my species is common enough. But my appearance. It has been known to frighten people, especially children." She chuckled, "You have no idea how many times I have been mistaken for some kind of monster. But, well, if I am being honest, my own kind isn't very comfortable with me, I haven't been home in over a year." She looked off, a sad expression on her face as she stared at the water as it crashed down. She hadn't known why she had decided to confide in this girl. She barley knew her.
Ellaria shook her head turning it back, "That aside, I don't exactly judge people by 'their kind'. If I am to judge anyone at all it is for who they are." She continued to look at Roxanne for a moment before picking up another charcoal block adding the finishing touches to the picture.
She decided to change the subject again, but left the other open if Roxanne wished to elaborate on it. "I do enjoy it. It is very time consuming, you're right. I've spent hours sketching. That's all. Filling page after page with whatever I saw." She looked down at the page in front of her, inspecting it. It was a quick sketch of the scene before her, but considering it was mostly the water fall and the rainbows, the scene hadn't called for to much detail. She flipped the journal page, pulling out a fresh charcoal block and decided to start a fresh one. She didn't exactly hide what she was drawing next, but she hoped Roxanne would not mind that she had decided to sketch her. "Bone carving? I've seen some beautiful pieces carved out of pure ivory. And some of them are no bigger than my thumb."

Most people would probably be a bit nervous with Ellaria's questions but Roxanne just shrugged. "It's not rude, at all, considering my statement. What choice did I leave you? I suppose you could have ignored it but really, who does that? I could tell you were a phioric before I saw you because of your scent. It's almost not fair to leave you in the dark where my own species is concerned," she said, then laughed, having realized what Ellaria just said. "You were worried that your appearance is scary? Oh, if you're mistaken for a monster I really must wonder what people think of me. Not care, just wonder," she paused, thinking. "That seems odd though, that your own people would be uncomfortable with you. It was my understanding that taking animal traits was common for phiorics; pale skin and red eyes don't make my least of offensive traits. That could just be me though," she mused.
Roxanne realized she was getting a bit off topic as Ellaria mentioned not judging people based on 'their kind.' "That's good because I get a lot of judging, being a demon. Half, technically, but most people can't tell the difference when they see me transformed," the half demon said casually. She spoke as if she hadn't just said something very strange.
As the subject moved back to the sketching and such, Roxanne nodded. "That's understandable, there are a lot of beautiful and unique sites in Nova," she commented, watching as Ellaria seemed to finish with the waterfall scene. Roxanne was surprised to see the girl start sketching her but didn't mind really. Rather, she focused on Ellaria's comments about bone carving. "Yes, I found some old bones and got inspired. I too have seen many beautiful and useful things made out of bone. It's a great way to repurpose something that otherwise would just be left to rot. I'm actually working on a gift for a friend, or I was earlier when you arrived," Roxanne answered, thinking that Aria was really going to love this. It would be the first gift, that she could remember, that she'd give Aria in their many years of knowing each other.

Ellaria continued to sketch the red head who she was talking with, slightly relieved that she had not offended the girl with anything she had said. However, when Roxanne commented what she had said about her kind not accepting her, her face fell. "That's not what I meant. It's not my appearance that they are uncomfortable with. It's me. I've never transformed, I don't look like this because I want to. I look like this because the abilities that I've had since birth did this to me unwillingly. I'm 225 years old. And not once have I transformed. I'm viewed as weak in my community. They see it as me not being able to transform. I don't know if I can or can't. I really wouldn't know. I've never tried. And then there was me refusing to marry who I was arranged to be wed to. So. Yeah. I'm Unfit. She spat the last word out as if it were almost venom. It was a simple word, but the meaning behind it caused her a level of turmoil that she would never openly admit to another person.
She sighed and continued drawing, only to stop once again when Roxanne nonchalantly said that she was a half demon. But the only words that she could think of to say on the matter was, "Wait. You can transform? Into what?"
Ellaria blushed, realizing that what she had just said was completely stupid. She turned her head back to her journal, seemingly more concentrated on the lines than before, changing the subject as she drew. What were you planning on craving for your friend? Why don't you continue it? I'm sitting here drawing, why not bone carve while we continue, ah what's the word? Chatting?" She asked, chuckling as she spoke.

Roxanne clearly misunderstood what Ellaria was saying about her people and listened as the girl clarified. "Ah.I did not mean to imply that your people were so shallow, clearly there are much deeper issues at stake. Personally, I do not understand why not transforming would make you unfit. Do not a large number of phiorics die transforming? Who can blame you for wanting to live? You'll transform when you're ready, I'm sure. It might only be in an attempted, and hopefully failed, suicide attempt but still. As for marriage, it's overrated." Roxanne said, smiling a bit. She was trying to make Ellaria feel better, in her own way, and didn't realize that she'd once again stuck her foot in her mouth, so to speak.
At Ellaria's reaction to her own question, the half demon couldn't help but laugh. "It's alright, I don't mind you asking, but it would be easier to show you. I mean, I could tell you that I have, technically, 3 forms. A human form, as you see now. A half demon form and a complete demon form. But are you not still somewhat curious? Would you like me to show you or are you more comfortable not knowing?" she explained, leaving the girl with options. Roxanne couldn't quite help but play on Ellaria's emotions a bit, it was in her nature.
When Ellaria suggested that she carve as they chatted, Roxanne tilted her head a bit to the side, considering. "Hm. I hadn't thought of that, honestly. I wasn't quite planning on chatting but this is nice. As for what I'm planning, I'm starting simple. I'm going to make her a bone flute," she explained, laughing a little at herself. Motioning for Ellaria to wait, Roxanne walked quickly back around the house to grab some of the bones, her knife, and her leather bag. She came back to where Ellaria was and set her things down.
"I'm going to make us a fire, since it's getting late and a bit chilly," Roxanne announced. She started working her way around the area, gathering loose sticks off the ground and snapping some of the lower hanging, and smaller, branches from the trees. Once she felt she had a decent amount, she walked back over to where Ellaria was and set them down. Then Roxanne surveyed the area for a moment, choosing a spot that was somewhat in the middle of the clearing and taking out her katana. She ignited the blade and then drew a large circle on the ground, using her free hand to direct the flame to burn out the inside of the circle. Once that was done, she dug the latrine shovel from her pack and used it to dig out a fire pit. Her demon strength making the job seem pretty easy. After she was satisfied with the depth of said pit, Roxanne added the wood she had gathered and then walked down to the lake edge.
She returned a moment later, carrying an arm's worth of smooth, heavy stones. All of them were about the same size and she lined the pit with them. Finished with its creation, Roxanne opened her palm, displaying a handful of tiny, flaming butterflies. She blew gently on her hand, guiding the butterflies off and into the pit where they settled amongst the dead wood and created a cozy fire.

Ellaria sighed, "It wasn't really my whole community. You see. I come from a rare blood line, my family holds a certain rank back home. And I didn't meet the status quo. I wasn't good enough. I was the black sheep. And I was given a choice. Stay and conform, marry a jackass and learn to transform and possibly die. Or leave. So. I chose to go." As she finished speaking on could tell that she would no longer speak of her home life and that she didn't want to. It wasn't a rude tone, but more of a finality. Old wounds opening to far.
She pursed her lips and shook her head as if to shake off the old memories. As she did so she listened to Roxanne speak of her transformation and smiled. "Oh no. I am still very curious. And I would very much like to see it, but that decision lies with you. I am fascinated by things one usually reads in books. I read often and have traveled far. But I have actually seen very little of the world. Magic, Demons, anything that isn't Phioric holds my interest."
Ellaria's smile grew at the mention of their unexpected encounter. "No neither was I, but it is a nice cahange of pace for me. I've rather enjoyed it thus far. She chuckled nodding partially to Roxanne and partially to herself, "A bone flute is the perfect starting place I think, and some of the best music is played from bone flutes. But yes go gather your bones, I'll sit here and continue my drawing."
As Rocanne left she continued the portrait of the girl, settling on the easy features while she was out of viewing range, like her hair and some shading. When she returned and spoke of building a fire Ellaria set her things aside."Here I'll help, no use me sitting down while you do all the work. Plus I agree with you, it is rather chilly and I dislike the cold." With that she stood and helped her gather fire wood until her arms were full and the had enough for a fire, and then some. As she set the firewood down she realized what Roxanne was doing. Tilting her head to the side, she watched as the half demon quickly and efficiently made a fire pit with little effort at all. Elarria was also quite impressed how she had ignited the katana with fire. She laughed as she followed her down the lake to help gather stones as well, "I guess you didn't need much of my help then?"
When they were finished lining the pit, Ellaria would see as Roxanne opened her hand to reveal the small fiery butterflies. She gasped and watched in amazement as they flew into the burn pile and made the wood burst into a beautiful cozy flame. Ellaria. Actually. Giggled. With delight. She ran and scooped up her drawing utensils and quickly, but efficiently, added the finishing touches to Roxanne's portrait. When she was done she would hold open to show the red head what she had added. As a last minute detail she had added several of the flaming butterflies flying around the half demon, the reds and oranges reflecting in her violet eyes. The picture was well done, and had a considerable amount of detail considering it had been done in charcoal.

Roxanne shook her head in disbelief, a disgusted look on her face as Ellaria went into detail about why she was wandering about with no home. She honestly didn't understand people like that but that might be a personal thing because she'd grown up in very different circumstances. Ellaria's tone made it clear she didn't want to talk about it anymore, so after a brief moment, the half demon simply nodded and let the subject fall. "Perhaps you'd rather ask me some questions instead? You've been quite open, which apparently is unusual for you. I shall return the favor, then," she offered, in an attempt to make the girl feel better.
Ellaria's response to what was an unintentional taunt on her part had Roxanne grinning in amusement. "I have found, personally, that one sees more of the world right here in Teair than anywhere else in Nova. It's a very strange city full of interesting people, especially with all the Fated being around," she mused. She had spent months travelling around for Aria and never found anywhere with this much diversity. "As far as Demons go, I've yet to meet any others here in this world. My species don't tend to stick together though, so I suppose it's not unusual. As for me, I don't mind at all showing you, or anyone else. I'm very open, in general, about what I am. Though I'll admit, not many have seen my full form but that's more because it's something of a recent self discovery," she explained.
Roxanne decided to wait a bit on the transformation considering that Ellaria was still casually chatting and drawing. She gave the girl a simple smile as she commented on the encounter and her bones. Then made her way over to get said bones. After her return and while she was already working on the firepit, Ellaria offered her help and Roxanne shrugged, smiling. The half demon didn't really need it but didn't refuse either as that would be rude.
Ellaria's reaction to the flaming butterflies was exactly what Roxanne was looking for and she grinned, satisfied for the moment. This girl had clearly needed some little sparks of happiness in her life. Though, the red head was quite puzzled when Ellaria suddenly ran back over and started her drawing again with a seemingly renewed vigor. She watched, her head tilted with a curious look on her face until the phioric brought the sketch over to her and proudly displayed it. Roxanne looked at the well made drawing, impressed and surprised. "That's beautiful, Ellaria! I've never seen anyone do something like this," she said, which was true. The half demon had not seen much art in her day and had certainly never watched it being made.
"Well, as long as we're doing show and tell, I guess now would be as good a time as any for that transformation demonstration that I offered," Roxanne said, smiling. It didn't take much concentration anymore, just enough to only go half instead of full. Her eyes changed first, the pupils turning to cat eye slits as her canines lengthened into fangs. A cloud of steam erupted from her back as her wings appeared, folded against her back for the moment. There was more steam and a crunch of bones as her tail appeared, curling on the ground around her feet. She stretched her wings out for Ellaria to see, having an impressive 10 ft wingspan. They were similar to bat wings, black and leathery looking in texture. Her tail was about 4ft long, solid black with a pointed end like an arrow head. It was made of tiny scales giving it a very smooth appearance. Roxanne moved it, waving at Ellaria, stretching and then curling it back around her feet, flicking occasionally in a movement similar to a cat. "This is my half form," she announced, grinning, resting a hand on one hip.
