Deidric emerged from the salon looking far more clean and well kept than he had in a while. The Ku-Deyu had let his time on the road get the better of him a bit, but it was important to keep a striker figure, also it was kinda fun to get cleaned up and looking nice again, it reminded him of home. Deidrics hair was still long, but it had been thoroughly washed, split ends trimmed and now it flowed down in golden ringlets. The salon had done a pretty good job, though they had taken a while to file his nails, something about faulty files.
Feeling a great deal more like the ambassador he supposedly was, and equally feeling like blatantly ignoring his duties to his country, which had nearly kicked him out since they were not at war at the moment, he decided to amuse himself with some shopping. Nova certainly does have a wide variety of interesting trinkets. He muses to himself as he looks at a wind chime and touches it, causing it to make a pleasant noise.
As he continues to think he decides to go take a look at some of the tailors and clothing stores, he could use some local clothing to carouse in, and besides he needed some other comfortable outfits.
On his way to the clothing store he notices a meat pie vendor and then suddenly he had several meat pies and was once again walking toward the store several coins no longer in his purse. "Ohhh~ the mysterious power of novarian cuisine, I underestimated this place, I don't even remember eating half the pie I just had." He mutters in surprise and awe.
"I must be careful, lest I eat all my money away." He laughs and finishes off the meat pie then sucks his fingers to get the juices that were left. "That was good."
Deidric then begins to take stock of his surroundings, "Shoot, went to far, where is the clothing shop again?"

Claire was freezing, but shopping called her to the districts for things she couldn’t collect on her own. Nova was desolate in winter and she had nothing she could wear that was warm enough. So it called her back into the city, shawl over her head and wrapped around her neck and lower face, hiding her face just enough that it wouldn’t be instantly recognizable against her wanted poster. With a scowl on her face and stomping about in her layers of skirts she looked around, searching for something that she could wear.
Making something that was ready to wear was new to her- before, all of her clothes had been hand made for her but now she couldn’t really afford that. At least, she couldn’t afford to spend the money on something nice and tailored for her. Where would she have use for it now? There was no place for lovely dresses and tailored shirts in her world now. She was so deep in her thoughts that she didn’t notice the man standing in front of her and she ran straight into the well-groomed Ku-Deyu.
“Agh- ah, I’m sorry.” Claire stumbled back, adjusting her shawl back over her mouth, her accent clear. “I didn’t see you.”

Deidric stood and munched on his pie for a few moments before suddenly being jolted out of his revere by a collision. When he looks up he sees someone with wrapped in a perculiar knot of cloths concealing most of them from sight.
"Do not mind,"[/i] he replies in the northern tongue accidentally. Then after settling thinks Well she's either foreign, a suvari, or a criminal. Though after hearing her accent he was inclined to think the later.
"No, it's alright, I should not have been standing in the middle of the road." He apologizes in accented Novarian. Deidric looked at the woman...he thinks it is a woman, she is wearing skirt. Though then again there was that one mountain tribe. I will probably never live down the fact that a man in a skirt drank a Ku-Deyu under the table.
Moving out of the flow of traffic he asks "excuse me, but do you think I could ask you a couple of questions, I only arrived in Nova from the north a couple of days ago and I am both horrendously lost and somewhat prone to being distracted by street food. Would you be willing to show me around a bit?"
Then scratching that back of his head. "Or allow me to tag along with you, I have not met a lot of other travelers since I came here and...actually sorry to bother you. Care for a meat pie as thanks for listening to me blather?"

Claire blinked at his accent, letting the cloth around her face drop a little. It wasn’t Novian, she hadn’t heard it before. Northern, maybe? She’d had a grand tour of the southern accents and couldn’t recall this one. Her brows pinched a little as the man began to speak- who did he think she was, some kind of servant or tour guide? He looked wealthy at least, so maybe this would be worth her time.
“If you’re looking for a Novian experience you’re asking the wrong traveller.” Claire smiles a little. “But if you’re looking for someplace I think I can point you in the right direction. I’m looking for clothes myself but you look like you’re on your way to something a bit more important.”
She shrugs, hands resting on her hips. “Think I would be stupid to turn down free food if you’re offering. What’s a Northerner like yourself doing here?”

Deidric smiles as the strange woman almost seems to lecture him and clearly begins sizing him up. It had been a while since he had talked to someone so straightforward. "Well I will admit I was hoping for a bit of a tour, but you certainly do not sounds like you are from around here, and anyone I meet in a bar can talk about this city. Is it rude to ask about the south? I only ask, since I know most of the northern regions and you do not seem to be from there."
Deidric hands her a meat pie, it was still warm, though no longer the bubbling hot temperature he preferred, though that was admittedly somewhat suspect considering he could breath fire. "For the moment, I am looking for cloths that make me look a bit less like a turkey dressed up for the Fire Dance Feast." he replies, referencing a northern tradition that none this far south would be familiar with.
"That being said if you are also headed to the clothing store, could I trouble you for your company. The devilish foods of this land keep distracting me, with their greasey savor and their meaty aroma..." He nearly visibly drools as he says this, but quickly wipes his mouth."I apologize, my name is Deidric Talen, I am from...well the north." He admits as she seemed to have already guessed.
As she asks him what he was doing here he looked at her in surprise. "Well following a war in my country I decided to take my pension and see the world. There are lot of wondrous sights to be seen, and a lot of right bastards to be punched, though keep that between the two of us." He asks with a bit of a smile. His eyes drifted around, to scan the crowd, but satisfied nothing more was going on he asks "and what brings you here?"

Claire laughs, the suddenness of it surprising her for a moment. “Ah- yes, very far south. You didn’t sound very southern either, so I guess we both have good ears.” she looks the man up and down, eyebrows arching. “Nothing wrong with being a turkey. But good to meet you, ah- Deidric.” the name sounded less odd coming from her mouth than other names, but it was one she hadn’t heard too often.
As the man turns away and brief panic strikes her with a realization- this man would want to know her name now. What name was on her poster again? She had so many here now that she couldn’t remember. “I-” What was a name that she could use? One that would confuse someone else if they heard it from him? “Aria Wurud.”
Claire blinks, surprised at the name that slipped from her lips. She quickly doubles down however as Deidric turns around, smiling. “My name is Aria. Thank you for the pie.” she starts to eat quickly, listening to him talk, ignoring the burning in her mouth.
“I’m on a pilgrimage.” Which was technically true, now that she thought on it. She points down the street, shrugging in the direction of the shops. “This way.”

Deidric was a bit surprised by the sudden outburst of laughter, but he simply assumed he has said something that would be amusing to someone where she was from. He knew little about the southern cultures. Well maybe I can get some tips on good places to visit when I finally get around to heading down there. After hearing the woman's name, and he was not pretty sure it was a woman, he gives her a wide grin.
"Well an ear for accents comes from a lot of travel," He points out before taking another bite of the pie which he seems to relish like a man who has not eaten in days. Though when she points out that there was nothing wrong with being a turkey he chuckles so hard that he almost loses the bite. When he finally finishes chewing an swallows he gasps out "well if I dress like a turkey I am a bit worried the locals around here will try to eat me alive."
"That aside, I am glad to meet you Aria, and I am happy to share the pie. I've been tired and away from home before." He admits as he watches he eat ravenously then scratches the back of his head. "I have not idea if this is rude in your culture, so just let me know or smack me if it is, but it seems like you're pretty hungry, do you want another?" He asks, hoping he was not stepping on any landmines as he follows her towards what he hoped was the store.
