Double Bubble [Nyx and Selkiris]

[Nyx]

Nyx smiled weakly at Selky when he said sorry she guessed it was for asking the question and also assuming that she was a happy person 100% of the time. She blinked a few times as he just stared at her not bothering with it she finished up bathing. When he mentioned it was getting late she look up at the sky seeing that it had indeed gotten late though she had to think for a moment given they current position him walking her all the way to the Arch of Ages would be too long for the both of them.

"I would love if you walk me home but it's almost a full two day walk. How about you walk me to the city unless you want to remain in my company longer than you desire." She said almost teasing him a bit as she quickly return to her normal self. Nyx quickly followed suit and go out, dried herself off and quickly got dressed. "I'm coming Selky." She skipped over so that she was standing right next to him. "Let's go home and thank you for spending the evening with me." Nyx gave him a quick butterfly kiss on his cheek.

[Selkiris]

Selkiris paused for a moment. He was thinking where he wanted to go. "Well I am a man of word and if your home is two days away so be it. I will walk with you for two days." Selkiris said, and it was true. He said he was going to walk her home and he didn't lie, even if it took two days he was going to do it. "Your company isn't.....fully unsatisfactory Nyx. I will admit that." Selkiris said that lightly, a deep blush on his face. That was actually one of the first times he ever blushed because of Nyx. He couldn't have been....no....there was no way of that.

[Nyx]

Nyx blinked a few times a little in disbelief that Selkris was going to walk her all the way back to the Arch of Ages. The only good thing about the trip was that they would have to go though town and then head onto the path that would take them to the Arch of Ages. “Then we should get going it’s a long trip.” Since he had put on the cloak she couldn’t see the blush but she did smile hearing that he didn’t mind her company it was a start and if they were fighting the whole time on the way to her home it would be a long trip and at night it would be horrible. “Ready to find out where I live in this world.”

[Selkiris]

Selkiris actually chuckled a little. "Sure then let us go. I can only guess where you live" With that, Selkiris was off, but he let Nyx walk in front of him as she likely actually knew where she was going. He looked up at the sky for a moment and the star light shone on his dark face, only penetrating enough of the darkness to show the small grin on his face.

[Nyx]

“Oh, so where do you guess I live Selky-kun.” Nyx asked a little curious about his answer she didn’t know what to expect. Walking a little ahead of him so that they could keep a conversation as they head on the path towards the town. “So, we have to stop in city first so if you want we can get an inn before leaving in the morning.” She turned and looked behind her to see his reaction to her suggestion plus if anything once they at the inn each of them could get they own room if possible though the idea of sharing a bed with Selkiris did cause her cheeks to turn a little rosy as she quickly put those thoughts out of her mind it was most likely never going to happen.

[Selkiris]

"Perhaps a cozy little inn near the forever forest? That sounds like somewhere you would live." Selkiris said with a small chuckle. Selkiris stopped for a moment as he thought about going to an inn with Nyx. For some reason he also had the image of him and her sleeping in the same bed. He knew it would only have been to save money or something but the thought of it still brought a bright red blush to his face. "O-oh right. We will likely need to stop at an inn. I...don't have much money on me, mostly because I didn't expect to even be sent here. But we likely can get something with what I have." Selkiris said, slightly stuttering. Selkiris had to take a minute to calm down, giving a brief cough and suddenly going back to his emotionless self.

[Nyx]

Nyx laughed a bit at the idea of her living in a nice cozy little in somewhere in the forever forest. It wasn’t a bad idea but she could never see herself living in the forest alone she needed to be around other people to feel like herself and it prevented her spending that alone time thinking upon things she would rather not. “Well to let you know Selkiris I do live in the forever forest kind of but I live at the Arch of Ages.” She spun around and look at him as she walked backwards a little. “So now you know where I live. Do you want to tell me where you live?” She asked as she tilted her head a little to the side.

[Selkiris]

"Ah where mages are trained. Are you a student or instructor there?" Selkiris had heard a lot of the arch. Where mages learned magic. He was tempted to enroll when he was young but he dismissed the idea, and there was next to no chance they would accept him in any way now. "Well I'm more of a nomad, I sleep where ever I am when night hits. One of the the reasons I have thick robes is actually because they double up as covers during the night." Selkiris laughed.

[Nyx]

“I’m an instructor there. I think I might be one of the youngest there.” Nyx recalled the other instructors at the Arch most were older than her by some years. Yet she had gotten a job because of her experiences and she also proved that she knew how to use magic even with her limited ability at the time of her gaining the position. It was why she asked to teach the intro to magic class to give any student that comes though the door the basic of understanding magic.



Upon hearing that he didn’t have a proper roof over his head plus with the rumors of the forest getting more dangerous she worried about Selkiris that something might happen to him one of those nights. “Well, you now know where I live so if you ever want to stop by and maybe spend a night in a soft bed and some home cooked food you can always stop by.” Turning around quickly to keep the thoughts of her and Selkiris living under the same roof even for a few nights. It warmed her heart thinking of waking up and cooking breakfast for the two of them. She knows that she does it Lucifina but the two of them didn’t have that type of relationship and as much as she liked Lucifina she had a feeling that they relationship wouldn’t go beyond that of friends with benefits.

[Selkiris]

"Well that is very kind of you Nyx. You know I once thought about joining the Arch. Enrolling as a student or trying as an instructor but...I can easily tell my teaching would not be welcome. How I use dark magic is not very welcome, it reminds so people of the things Bether performed. Plus I don't think my teachings could be very interesting anyway, mostly lectures and the like." Selkiris said emotionless. He could only imagine how it would be to be an instructor, and more importantly how people would react to his teachings.

[Nyx]

“Well, I can’t have you dying off in the forest now. Plus when was the last time you had a home cooked meal and camp food doesn’t count.” Hearing that he had at one point wanted to enrol at a student it did cause a small flutter of her heart. “What cause you not to enrol? To be honest if you were an instructor I would have sit in on your class. Lectures can be entertaining if you know how to make them so.” Taking a small moment to herself she thought him as teacher it would be an interesting site to see him being all proper and not hiding behind his cloak with maybe twenty young eyes on him taking all his words to heart.

[Selkiris]

"Well that is nice to hear Nyx but I'm to closely tied to the abyss for any peaceful learning. Its best to think the type of dark magic I use is long dead and forgotten. Makes people calmer, much easier to slip by a calm, unwary person than one who fears of shadow beasts eating them in their bed. Selkiris spoke in a distant tone, as he was thinking about something else. He barely even knew what he was dealing with. He knew he only scratched the surface of the power of the mark, but only the Ancient One knew what horrors the mark kept hidden, waiting to release at the right time. "What is your favorite part about being an instructor Nyx? Is it the joy of helping mages start their journey? That sounds like an answer you would give."

[Nyx]

Nyx just nodded her head she understood where he was coming from. People tend to be more jumpy if they knew that something out there that was thought to be either long dead or even gone. She still found it strange that people thought that a magic art could die off when when magic itself can not die only hide. "Well to be honest I do enjoy starting young mages off on they journey of magic. But to be honest my favorite part is getting to be on the other side of the desk watching the young ones struggle and finally getting my turn to watch someone else struggling like I did during my years of learning magic. I know a little dark for me huh." Adding the last part as a final thought. She did wonder how he take the response that she enjoyed watching new mages suffer a bit learning they new trade and realizing that magic wasn't all it was thought to be from fairy tales that it was hard work, skill and even some pain before you can get a spell right or even get mana to bend to one's will.

[Selkiris]

Selkiris had to pause for a moment to process what Nyx just said. He chuckled and pushed his hood off his head, quickly revealing his big smile. He began to give a hard laugh. "HAHAHAHAHAHA OH GEEZ NYX. Th-That's mildly sadistic, I love it. HAHAHAHAHAH." Selkiris took a second to calm down but he still had his smile. "I definitely wasn't expecting that Nyx, I swear sometimes you say the funniest stuff without even knowing it." Selkiris gave small chuckle and very discretely moved closer towards Nyx. He stopped when they were almost touching shoulders as they walked. Selkiris had a small blush on his face, this time completely visible to Nyx. Selkiris didn't know why he felt urged to be near her.

[Nyx]

Nyx paused in her steps when Selkiris started to laugh she had never heard him laugh that hard but it was pleasing to the ears. “Well glad to know you like my sadistic side.” She covered her mouth a little to hide the small giggle upon him realizing that she wasn’t a complete angel all the time. She turned a notice the smile on his face it suited him in her opinion and brought a sparkle to his eyes. “You know you look better with a smile.”



As they continued to walk to notice that he was getting closer to her and cause a small blush to rise to her cheeks. Looking at him from the corner of her eye as the moonlight filtered down though the treetops casting an almost heavenly glow. Seeing him blush only caused her blush brighten a bit more, looking away from Selkiris as they continued to walk the path heading back towards town since it was the quickest way to the Arch. “Um… do you want us to stop in town and rest at an inn for the night?”
