we must be K I L L E R S CHILDREN OF THE WILD ONES At his request she nodded. I’ll stick to neutral colours; it will help you blend in anyways. She confirmed, waving off his neck remark. What am I gonna do, let you strip your way into the city? She snorted watching as the shirt basically dissolved. My point exactly. She shook her head, still chuckling.
At the mention and question of a bath, Iris nodded again, and when they reached her room, she pointed to the door neck to hers. That room is a bathing chamber. Feel free to use it, there’s a towel on my dresser. I’ll leave the clothes I find on the bed. iris smiled. That smile quickly turned into another snort of laughter at his joke; this quiet guy had some humour in him! You know; you’re pretty interesting. Iris mused, wiping away a fake tear of laughter.
After leaving the room, iris ventured off to find him clothing, bringing back a tan brown shirt, loose fitted with sleeves ending around the elbow, dark brown pants, socks and shoes to match, as well as a black leather-bound jacket. Most of which was from the lost and found from the dorm. She folded it all, and left it folded on the bed, with a note saying she’f be back in 15 or so minutes.
WHERE DO WE HAVE LEFT TO R U N ? ulla

Xander looked at her curiously, watching her motions towards the bathing chamber. He wasn't really keen on waiting for her, and although he seemed shy it was more or less due to the frequency at which he held conversations with others. He wasn't really all that embarrassed for himself, because he really didn't understand being embarrassed at the moment. There was no point when life had no purpose. He was going to be embarrassed over showing his manly hood to the neighborhood when many of them will die during his 'life span'. He sighed as she began to leave, missing the warmth of her company.
When Xander was the only 'living' thing in the room, it only zapped out any source of heat, and only drowned him in what felt like freezing temperatures. This of course, was more or less in his mind. He walked off to the shower, pulling off the clothes as quickly as possible, whilst Iris's back was turned. He was almost completely naked before she even left the room, but he darted off rather quickly, hoping to get the shower done within 5 minutes off her absent. The water would more than likely suck any or all heat he felt off the skin, and leaving it would be even worse. He darted into the shower, quickly cleaning himself off.
To Xander it felt like 5 minutes, but it was more around ten. He left the shower, and quickly change into what she had gotten for him.
Xander pressed against his skin, which felt so lifeless. He walked over to the bed casually, pressing one hand onto the mattress. Although it may seem like the normal thing, Xander had slept on nothing but wood for years, so it was extremely comfortable in comparison. He left the shower early, he though, a moment reprieve on the comfortable surface would do no harm! So Xander quickly sat on the bed, only to find himself laying down, oddly enough in a position one would be seen in a casket, before letting the rest of his body relax. He was tempted to take the covers over, although when his body gave no heat it would not help.
He lay there for a brief moment, realizing that even now when he felt most exhausted, and comforted, he couldn't seem to even feel the need to sleep.

Iris went off in search of new clothing for her new dead BFF, deciding to head to the schools "Lost and Found" section. Most students were off on break right now, so the chances of any of them missing something from it was slim. Iris picked through it, tossing aside all the rejects; from slippers to ribbons, ties to sweaters. Finally she came up with a gray shirt, long sleeves and V-necked. It would be a bit tight on him, but she was pretty sure it would fit. After that, she just found a pair of pants she assume would fit, and grabbed a black jacket for him. He could pick out shoes later, she didn't feel like guessing his size. Once she had all this picked out, she brought it back over to her room, placing it on the bed with the note. She left again, this time going to grab food, whether he had to eat or not, it could be comforting for him. This time when she returned, it was with a banana and a cup of water. She knocked on her bedroom door, and waited for an answer. Yo Mud Boy, you decent, or will my eyes pop out of my head if I open the door? She called through the door, a smirk on her face.

Xander listened to the woman call out to him. "Mud boy?" He found himself angered slightly. He found himself normally to be very clean, and the thought of someone calling him otherwise, slightly disturbed him. "I am very cleanly thank you." Xander quickly retorted to her name calling. He didn't realize that she was joking. Xander waited patiently by Iris' bed as she moved forward at the door. "You can come in, I'm decent, and clean!" He called to her.
He looked at her curiously. "What time it is?" Xander found himself slightly obsessed with the time. His eyes looked for a window, hoping to judge the time by sunlight.
Xander was a little worried that they might be walking at night, depending on how long this trip was, he had no idea.
The night, the dark, it was terrifying. Xander had seen it enough, and he knew that when the darkness fell over him, he would lose the sensation of time. He was no longer under ground, but he found himself terrified at the thought of the dark, and what he knows deep inside, that it will do.

Iris snorted with laughter, catching on that she'd harmed his delicate feelings. She stepped into the room when he announced that he was decent, and looked him over in his new clothing, a low whistle leaving her lips. She had her arms crossed over her chest, in one hand was two apples, in the other a canteen of water. Damn. A shower seems to do wonders for a guy trapped underground. You look like a whole new person- and its quiet easy on the eyes.
She handed him both apples, placing the canteen on the bed for when he was ready for it. After that she flopped on her bed, resting her head on her end, her elbow holding her up. Hmmm... I'd say a couple hours before dinner. She didn't ask why he kept asking. She had a feeling she already knew why.
So. Are you ready to head to town?

Xander looked at her curiously. "Well, I would never let being buried under ground stop me from keeping in shape." Xander responded to her curiously. He gazed at her curiously looking at her legs, before returning to her eyes. "Whole new person? I think I look pretty good covered in dirt." Xander added. Xander felt like he was attractive, however he often didn't really tell others that.
"Almost dinner?"
His eyes gazed the room which seemed to be void of many things. "I would appreciate not travelling through the night, if possible." Xander looked at her, his voice wasn't necessarily demanding, but his tone didn't really seem like he was asking either. His eyes glanced down to the food she brought him, and the canteen.
He reached down, and grabbed a bite of the apple. This was just to accept her kindness, he felt rude if he didn't. He began to eat the apples, despite not really wanting to. He drank the water as well, he was sure that it may comfort her more than him. She seemed kind, but not the type to care too much about others. For whatever reason she was helping him anyway, and he felt like she would be more happy if he accepted the things she brought to him.
Xander looked into her eyes, before glancing up at her horns.
"Are those for real?"
Xander paused for a moment.
"Your horns, not your breasts. I never doubted those," He laughed lightly, his face lighting up differently than before.

No you certainly did not. Iris agreed, letting her eyes roam over him approvingly. It seemed now that he had showered, his confidence might be growing. True, the dirt did kinda suit you. She laughed. She nodded when he asked if it was almost dinner. Yeah, but I can bring along some food for while we're traveling. Not many places to stop between here and the city. Iris paused as she watched him eat, noticing the way he seemed to hesitate.
... You're not alive, right? Iris asked slowly, hoping not to offend. So... You don't really need to eat, do you? Cause if that's true, you dont need to pretend for my sake, it's really okay. She added quickly, wanting him to feel comfortable.
When Xander spoke again Iris snorted aloud with laughter. Well I thank you for your confidence in my natural body; and yes, the horns and the tata's are real. Grew em both myself. Quite proud if I do say so myself, thanks for noticing. Iris almost rolled with laughter, laughing even more when she saw his face tinge with colour.
When she finished laughing, she wiped some tears from her eyes and shook her head. We can stop over night; I can borrow some supplies for it.

Xander looked at her curiously. Her glanced at his food angrily, feeling easily read by the woman.
He tossed the apple back at her. "If you knew then why'd you bring the food!?" He glared at her with a slight burst of anger, but his words were also somewhat playful. He much didn't like being read like an open book. He supposed that perhaps the closest people he'd meet in this new era would know this about him, he just didn't know she figured it out so quickly. He groaned, looking over to her with apologetic eyes. It wasn't as if he yelled at her, but it was more like a small damn you figured me out moment.
Her laughter almost seemed to drown out his words, but he didn't mind that she was so full of life, and laughter. It was fitting for someone who didn't have that.
"I can't sleep," Xander looked at her, blurting out something rather personal. He didn't want to share this with anyone, but he had no choice but to give her all of his trust. Xander was hoping to have some sort of light throughout the night, to help him judge time.
"I'm terrified for when the night comes," He admitted with confidence, not to share, but to warn her for what she might experience when it comes.
He didn't feel the need to explain himself.
He was at least glad that he had someone unique to share this first night with.

Iris caught the apple with a laugh. I was being nice! You just have easily could have lied to me about it, and kept eating. I figured if you wanted to keep it to yourself, you would have. Would you have rathered I bring nothing and called you out on it from the start? Iris rolled onto her back taking a bite from the apple. Someone should eat it anyhow.
When he blurted out how he couldn't sleep, she stopped eating and pushed herself back up into a sitting position, patting a spot on the bed next to her for him to join her. I had a feeling you might say that.. Iris started slowly, lowering the apple into her lap. When he also admitted his terror she nodded quietly. Of course he was; any sane person who was doomed to live an eternal life awake would be scared of the dark. Well.. I have a plan. You want to get into the city, but leaving today would give us an overnight trip. What we're going to do is head out soon and pack a tent and other overnight supplies. When night comes, we'll build a small fire, set up the tent, and both of us will get in it for the night. That way you'll have me right there next to you to keep you company; and seeing as you'll be away, you can keep watch for me. Iris made it sound simple, but the look on her face confirmed that she knew how hard this would be for him.

Iris' laughter was contagious, and her smile intoxicating. He looked at her curiously, and her attitude seemed to be full of more life than life itself, whatever being alive felt like, it was almost like he forgot. "Your plan seems sound, as long as I have a book or something to read." Xander looked at her. "The average person typically sleeps around 8 hours, although I myself prefer'd to sleep 10." Xander looked at her. "Regardless even six hours with nothing to do is quite boring."

Iris snorted. So long as you carry it, you can bring as many books as you want. We'll stop by the library on our way out. Sound good? Iris asked, rolling off of the bed to a standing position. Well it's decided then. Ready to roll out? No use in wasting daylight!

Xander looked at her curiously. She seemed to just go with the flow didn't she?
He looked at deeper into her eyes for a moment, his eyes lighting up as his mind became lost in thought for a few moments. It wasn't as if anything was wrong with him, but he found himself logically going over many details about her form, legs, and horns. Xander was more or less categorizing her features, as odd as that sounded. She was a brand new person, and creature, to him. It wasn't as if he meant to come off as creepy, but his mind was curious what her biology was like.
Would the same type of medicines work with her? Or did she need some specialty medication, perhaps her biology was much more different than his own. Could her and other humanoid beings breed? Where the offspring affected differently, like the high chance of deaths that hybrid creatures like Ligers faced.
"Well, why don't you pick one of your favorite books for me to read?"[/b] Xander looked at her, quite interesting in the type of literature she was interested in.
"I'm going to probably get something about architecture, but I'd like to know the type of things that entertain you. Do you have a particular author you prefer?"
Xander stood up preparing to follow her.

Iris scratched the back of her head shyly, her cheeks flaring slightly. Uhm. She cleared her throat, shrugging. I don't read too much if I'm being honest. I never had the time in my world, and haven't gotten much into it since I've been here. But, I can pick something random for you if you want. That could be interesting. Iris laughed.
They departed from her room, grabbing the supplies necessary for a trip over night (tent, lantern, food, water canteens, rope, etc.) Before they left the Arch, they stopped at the library as promise and Iris picked a completely random book from the World Biology section, on dissecting goblins. She shuddered lightly, but tossed to book towards him out of humor. It was up to him to keep it.
From there they left the school, marching into the Forever forest towards the City.

Upon arriving at the library Xander snuck off rather quickly to get a architecture book, he wanted to learn how to design his own home one day. Xander looked at her with a look of slight disgust when she handed him the book she had chosen. "Well interesting choice.." It wasn't as if Xander avoided this type of material.. It wasn't his favorite however. Xander prepared to follow her to the new destination, looking through his chosen book briefly for any juicy information.
"So Iris, what do you do for a living?"
Xander asked curiously,
"Also, are you a fast walker?" Xander glanced at her legs.
They did look quite strong, perhaps she could carry him for part of the trip.

As they walked, they made conversation here and there. Currently, I'm the personal guard of some hotshot duke. He's also the Headmaster of the school you just showered in. Iris waggled her eyebrows, aiming to freak him out a little bit. What about you? What did you used to do? She wasn't thinking if that was insensitive or not; just making conversation.
I mean, yeah kinda. More than you obviously. She shrugged, not getting his point.[/b]
