The silence pierced his ears, he felt as though he was maybe dead already. The only thing reminding him that he was actually partially alive was pain. The pressure of the earth around him, as he slowly moved forward. Time was irrelevant in this darkness, so he had no idea how much time had passed, but had he actually had a heart beat it would have stopped as his hand emerged, feeling for the first time in many years what moving air felt like. The wind pleasantly whisked at his fingers, which barely emerged from the ground. Now being able to get a hold of the ground above, he pulled himself at a much quicker rate, emerging like a zombie out of a horror film, quickly. However, his face wasn't full of groans, or sadness. A large smile adorned his face. "I'M FREE!" He yelled out, so excited he felt as though he could leap in the air. He stopped, catching his breath. This was really a mental habit, he had no need for air.
His mind was at rest, for the first time in what seemed like forever. He sat down, 'breathing' in as much air as he could. However, he found the air didn't really satisfy him. He sighed lightly, getting up to observe the area. He took a few steps forward, before stubbing his foot. He grabbed it, expecting a large amount of pain, but felt what could only be described as pain, but somehow muddled, as if static was in the way. His body felt different, very different. He bent down, wiping away moss, and earth from the object he had hit.
Xander quickly realized what he uncovered was a grave, unmarked. It was clearly a gravestone, but it had been here so long that it was very well hidden, at least until he unearthed it. He turned to look at the whole he emerged from.
"This is my grave.." He spoke to himself, as tears began to emerge in his eyes, which sparkled lightly as the sand flowed through his iris. He stopped his crying rather quickly, and began pushing the dirt he had displaced back in the hole as if hiding a dark secret. His hands shook, trembling at this revelation. Xander had died. He may have been terrified, but, he was very intellectual, and had to be to learn the magics he had obtained in his past. However, he realized now that clearly a lot was taken from him upon death.
His face, which only for a moment had smile upon emerging, was now plastered with a neutral stare, as if all joy had left his face. What had he become? What was he now? He knew he no longer had hunger, needed sleep, or water. He was undead, wasn't he? He had been in that hole so long he thought he was in hell, and his vision of hell was climbing upward in darkness, for what felt like eternity.
He stood, drenched in dirt. Shaking lightly to get the remnants of dirt off.
Xander began walking, to be honest he had no real goal in mind but to find civilization, if any existed, after all he had no idea how long he'd been in there. Perhaps that Magician would still be around, but that was a long shot. Xander, continued to walk, north. Tears filling his eyes, as his body shook. "North, North, North, North" To be honest, Xander was terrified, he wasn't quite sure what reason he had to be on the earth anymore. What point was there in going north anyways? What would he do if he found a city, what would he do if he couldn't find anyone he knew. Was he supposed to live? Forever? Watch everyone else die? Could he die? Did he bleed? Xander cursed under his breath, his lips quivering as he mouthed words.
"North.." He sighed, it may be something stupid to live for, but it was better than sitting at his grave in depression. As he continued to voice his goal in his mind, it made the unbearable thoughts more bearable, and slowly he calmed himself down.. He didn't know it, but he was in the ground for somewhere around 80 years, and that certainly didn't make his mind stable. Thankfully the sun was out, and it was warming him up. He had only felt cold for so long, he couldn't help but feel happy, and alive as the sun warmed his cold body with each step. "North.." He smiled lightly, having his first 'happy' moment in 80 years.

we must be K I L L E R S CHILDREN OF THE WILD ONES
Iris had been roaming around the school bored about of her freaking mind. Adrain was holed up in his office working on some kind of invention or whatever and it was more boring to sit there and watch rather than roam around; though he’d asked her to refrain from bothering the students. She had waltzed through the halls, finding nothing of interest and decided to go on an adventure outside. She left the building and sauntered out towards the more foresty areas behind it. She had only been going for about 10 minutes when she smelt it. She stopped, looking around for the source and noticed it getting stronger, coming towards her down the makeshift dirt path. It smelt like decay and dirt, very similar to how those undead things had smelt during the attack, but less potent. Iris moved out of the way, hiding behind a tree until the source got closer. When she could see it, she found herself very surprised.
It was a man, tall with black hair and eyes like hers only more vibrant. He looked happy, yet also incredibly sad. The closer he got, the more Iris could smell; it wasn’t him that smelt like decay, but the scent was clinging to him. No, he smelt more like a human… but off. Something was definitely off.
Iris stepped out from behind the tree as he finally got close enough. Hey. Who are you. She demanded. Xander would see a tall golden haired woman, with goat legs covered in corse brown fur. She wore a simple cloth top over her breasts that really didn’t cover much aside from the important parts and was dark green in colour, with another matching cloth hanging down over her lower bits. There was a silver arm band over her left forearm, and a belt around her waist holding up her handcrafted sword, which she had her hand resting on now. Her yellow eyes narrowed at him, awaiting a response; he definitely wasn’t a student, and she hadn’t seen him around the village surrounding the Arch either.

Xander paused quickly, as he jumped lightly at a voice calling him. His eyes looked over to her, he was quiet, and eyed her carefully. He was certainly intrigued to what he was seeing. Goat legs? Boobs? Person top? Xander's eyes squeezed as he looked at her in more detail.
"I'm.." Xander paused, it had been so long since he had even spoke his name. Xander, " He quickly recalled his name, smiling that he could do so easily. It took a lot of will to keep himself somewhat sane in that hole. "I'm sorry, but I have seen nothing like you before.." He looked at her curiously. "You, look quite.. majestic? Is that the right word.." Xanders voice was calm, but also shaky, as if each word he spoke caused his throat pain. As he spoke this shakiness seemed to fade, leaving a more calm tone. "I'm just lost," Xander spoke quickly, feeling that perhaps she would just offer to help him instead, avoiding any explanations of his clumsy speech, it had been a while since he had to speak to anyone, especially someone so unique.
Xander kept his mind from over reacting, he did not want to anger the talking animal person. He looked at her again, so curious, her being the first thing he had seen, really kept his curiosity high. He looked at the loincloth type item curiously. "I apologize, If I'm staring.. I don't mean to offend you, but what exactly are you?"

She narrowed her eyes as his scanned over her. Sure she was used to people being startled by her appearance, but come on, stop staring. Though she did hide a smirk as his eyes steadily rested on her breasts for a moment. Arching an eyebrow as he spoke, his voice very hoarse at first, adjusting as he continued. As he started the sentence “you, look quite…” Iris closed her eyes with a sigh, bringing a hand up to her forehead in irritation. However she was pleasantly surprised when he ended the phrase with “Majestic”. Her eyes popped open and she tilted her head to the side curiously. Oh. Thanks! She let out a loud laugh, moving her hand from her forehead to the back of her head, scratching it. That was a new one.
Iris remained quite as he observed her, gathering pretty easily that this guy would be jumpy if she moved to fast. She arched her eyebrow even higher this time as his eyes now rested on the cloth covered her lower area. No offence taken; I get it a lot. I’m a Satyress; though I don’t expect you to know what that means. I’m half goat half human. Iris confirmed. The loincloth you seem so interested in is a courtesy. I have the lower half of a goat, obviously, and the downstairs to match. It freaks people out, so I wear this. Iris spoke, placing a hand on her hip. Now to get serious.
Now, I told you what I am. What are you? She narrowed her eyes again. Because the answer isn’t human.

Xander looked into her eyes, not needing to look at her body anymore. He had gotten the picture, she was a horse, or goat, half anyways, if she was going to stay, then he would see more of her anyways. Eyes, were always more alluring, he stared into her eyes, still no idea about the changes in his own. "I see," A Satyress.. he thought, still quite confused about the whole thing, although wasn't concerned about it. He would get used to it he was sure.
When she asked him what he was his eyes dropped to the floor, unable to look her in the eyes for a brief moment. "I'm sorry, I really can't answer that question. I suppose that I knew the entire time I am no longer human, but It's something hard to believe.. I'm not quite sure how you figured it out, but I guess the closest thing I can compare myself to is undead."
He looked at her, his eyes filled with sadness.
"I don't need to eat, sleep, or even stay warm. So, undead I guess fits the category enough for now." Xander didn't feel right for sharing this, and there was a chance she could see him as un-godly, and try to attack him, as some people find undead monstrosities which Xander was kind of among them.
He however responded to her with truths, only because it was respectful, he had already asked, almost impolitely what she was, and it was only fair he answered her question to the best of his abilities.
"I've shared my name with you already, may I ask for yours?" He looked at her carefully. He was being a bit more shy than usual, but he was covered in dirt, and told her he was undead, so he was sure some people may just want to exorcize him.

Iris watched him curiously as he reacted to her question. He didn’t seem dangerous, but that undead smell on him was giving her the creeps. When he began to speak, she tilted her head again. This guy was just getting more interesting. He had no idea what he was for certain. When he said he believed he was undead, Iris widened her eyes, staring into his as he looked back up at her. When he was done explaining she looked down, making a choice. She looked back up and walked directly up to him, taking his hand. It wasn’t cold but it wasn’t warm either. It felt lifeless. She moved her fingers up to his wrist, trying to find a pulse. There wasn’t one. I’ll be damned… She muttered to herself, turning her eyes back up to his, a lot closer this time. You’re dead alright. Undead. whatever. She was cautious now; they last undead she’d known about attacked the city; though those didn’t seem to have minds of their own and smelt a hell of a lot worse. This guy just smelt like dirty, mouldy clothing and a bit of decay. Almost like a graveyard.
When he asked her name, she blinked, forgetting she hadn’t said it already. Oh, I’m Iris. She let go of his wrist and took a step back from him so as not to be right in his face anymore. So if you don’t know precisely what you are; where have you been this whole time? Your clothes smell like they’ve been underground for a couple decades. Iris wrinkled her nose lightly.

Xander looked at Iris confused, not sure how exactly to respond to her upfront assault on his personal space. For a moment he felt as though he should back off, but instead decided to wait patiently. She felt his hand, and one small portion of him wanted to smile. It was warm, and it felt very nice. Maybe now that he was dead, that small feeling made him feel just that much more alive. She went to check his pulse, and confirmed that It wasn't there. Xander assumed as much, but knowing for sure now, it wasn't a happy feeling to say the least.
When she asked the next question Xander was startled a bit, one that he really didn't want to answer. "Well, I was underground." He responded with a groan, not really wanting to mention it.
"I thought it was obvious, considering the amount of dirt on my person.."
Xander looked back south, which was a direct line right back to his grave.
"I appeared out of a grave, unmarked. It was covered in sediment, moss, I must have been buried for sometime."
"It's south of here, if you want to go look yourself. I personally would like to avoid it."
Xander's face took on a look of anguish. His mind was recalling the pain he felt as the earth pressured his entire body, nothing but darkness, no one to talk to for so long. The darkness, he swore he never wanted to see so much of it again. For someone that never slept, than, it would only be terrifying.
"What time is it?"
Xander asked her, wondering for how long he would have the sun over his head, the only item giving him happiness, at least on a consistent basis.

She could tell he didn’t want to answer her, which did make her feel a bit guilty for asking; but it was a legitimate question. When he did begin to speak, she was taken aback, her eyes blinking a few times and widening a bit. Underground? She supposed it made sense; he didn’t need air, food or water to survive. Despite the dirt, emerging from a grave isn’t typically something someone assumes about someone… Iris muttered, running a hand through her hair. She’d sure bumped into a strange guy.
As he went on, offering her to check it out without him, she shook her head. No need. I believe you; you not alive and you smell like you’ve been underground for decades. It makes sense… Its just not a conclusion I would have come to on my own. Iris sighed. Poor guy; how long had he been down there? Iris refrained from asking this time, knowing it was more likely that he had no idea. Plus there was no need to make him think of whatever past he had; most likely everyone he remembered would be dead or old as balls by now.
When he asked what time it was, Iris looked at him curiously before realizing why he wanted to know. Of course he wanted to spend all his time in the sun; he’d been deprived of it for so long. Only about lunch time; early afternoon. I know you don’t need food, but if you’d like I can bring you somewhere to sit down and adjust a bit; maybe get you a change of clothes too. Those reek, and really… not presentable at all. Iris motioned to the various holes that would have torn open and “became one with the dirt” over the years underneath it.

Xander looked at her curiously, squinting his eyes at the bright sun behind her. "I'm not going to lie, it would feel very nice to clean up. I look like a pile of trash," He grabbed his shirt, pulling on it to see just how sturdy it was. The shirt quite literally tore with no effort at all, there wasn't much left of it, it had decayed so much, and was so frail. "A new pair of clothes would make me feel like a new man," He added with a sincere smile. The shirt covering a little less than it did before.
"Although, Iris, you don't have to go out of your way for me. I can try and make do, if you'd just point me towards a city. I may not look like much, but I can at least find a way to get my own clothes. I'm not going to lie and say that I would not be grateful for your help, but I have nothing to give you in return, not that you seem like your asking for anything.
Xander looked at her, and smiled lightly, raising his arm. It looked as though he was blocking out the sun with his hand, but he was just feeling the sun's radiation heat it up.
He dropped his arm, feeling better. "I'm sure someone as pretty as yourself has a lot to do anyways right?"
Xander complimented her, and it was sincere. He didn't mean for it to go anywhere, but instead was being more friendly. He did think she looked attractive, even with goat legs.
Xander cracked his neck by bending his head to the side, "My body feels so stiff.." Xander told Iris absent mindedly.
Xander was a little against receiving her help, she just met him, and he was surprised to see her trust so easy, especially towards a undead.
"But, if anything, It's a pleasure to meet you Iris."

Iris chuckled when he agreed, tearing his shirt. Her eyes wandered a bit, skimming the arena of skin that was not exposed… Not bad… not bad at all… Iris blinked smiling at him. You’re near the Arch man. There’s a tiny village surrounding it, but the main city is a decent travel from here. I don’t need anything, but let me help you. If people see you walking around like that, they might get suspicious. I doubt you want more people sniffing around what you are. She arched an eyebrow, hand on hip as she made her case.
When he complimented her, a large grin appeared on her face. Ha. Nice assumption there hot shot; nah no plans. I work as a bodyguard, but I have the day off; well I have any day off that he’s holed up doing more magic research. Iris wrinkled her nose. So boring to watch She shook her head.
Its a pleasure to meet you too. Now, if you will follow me, we’ll head back to the Arch to get you some clothing, and then we’ll head to the city. She 100% planned on using one of the portals to do so, saving time and energy; plus it gave him more time in the sun.

Xander was watched Iris, and he almost tilted his head when she called him "hotshot". Xander was chuckled lightly with her though, to be honest he just wanted any excuse to join in with what seemed to be her joy. Fun, it had been so very long since he had fun, and he took any excuse he had to laugh a little, at least right now.
"Well, thank you Iris, I can't tell you how glad I am that your the first person I stumbled upon out of my grave." Xander thought that may get a small chuckle, which made the pain of remembering that grave worth it for him, if it meant he could share in her chuckle anyways.
I'll follow you then, but don't walk too fast on those hooves of yours, I want to enjoy this freedom." Xander's attitude seemed to pick up with the newfound objective.
"So, are there a lot of Satyrs?" Xander asked curiously, have never having seen one.
"Either you guys are really good at keeping to yourself, or I have been kept too long in studies. But, I have never read about Satyrs, and I have read a lot of books, on the various races of this land, so I thought that I would have at least read one sentence about your race,"
Xander's curiousity got the better of him, and he hoped she didn't take the almost interrogation like questioning, this was his more scholarly side showing, wanting to understand more about them, what they ate, their cultural history. He really loved learning about these things, and he only wished their was a book on the subject.

Iris smiled warmly, actually touched for a moment. That might be the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. You’re alright man. Iris turned and flung her arm over his shoulder and began walking back towards the Arch. Hows this? Too fast for ya? She jested, moving her legs in slow motion at first before resuming regular pace.
When he asked if there were a lot of Satyrs, and went on to explain how he was a big study on this kinda stuff and had never heard of her, her smile faltered slightly, but she regained it fast. Nahh… I’m the only one as far as I know. Seems you’ve been underground for at least a few years. I’m what the people call “Fated”. Assuming you know of the god Fate; well he’s dragging people out of their own worlds and into this one; and no one knows why. I’m one of those people. Iris shrugged, leaving out the gory “novians still don’t fully take kindly to the Fated” bits for now.

Xander looked at the woman curiously, watching her briefly as she flung her around his shoulder. He wasn't quite used to how upfront this woman was, when she reached over to him, a small part wanted to step aside and avoid any touch. However he quickly realized how nice it was to feel body warmth against his skin.
He looked at her, with a slight uncomfortable look.
He walked with her, trying best to keep his pace up with hers. Fated? He was curious. "So there could be many more races, or creatures, potentially that I could have never seen?" The idea certainly was interesting, he wasn't sure if nature had laws, but if a half-goat woman was a real thing, what else could be out there?
"So where are we heading?" Xander asked curiously, wondering about the destination.

Iris noted the uncomfortable look but ignored it. If this guy really had been underground for as long as she believe he had been, he would need to get readjusted to society and people in general. Having someone like Iris be the first person he meet could work to her advantage; not everyone was as into personal space as she was. Exactly. Fate has been plopping people into this world left right and centre; I’ve met fated demons, phirorics, angels, succubus’, and of course humans. Always plenty of humans. Iris listed off, trying to remember the variety of which she’d run into.
When he asked where they were headed, they emerged from the forest area they’d been in, the back of the Arch bestowed in front of them. Well, we’re going to start with getting you a change of clothes. From there I’ll take you into the city. Iris continued walking, and when they would reach the doors, she would open one for him, releasing his shoulder. She would follow him inside, and direct him up the stairs to the Chambers that had been selected for her. They were within the dorm, but in a section that was currently unused, so as not to mix her in with the students. She would open the door for him again, then turn to leave him inside. Make yourself at home, I’m gonna go grab you some clothing. She dashed out, closing the door behind her. Xander would be left in a medium sized room, with a large bed covered in brown and green blankets. Aside from some clothing an armour, there weren’t many possessions within the room.

Xander continued to walk beside this woman. She was interesting, and confusing at the same time. He wasn't quite sure why, but the fact he had risen out of the ground like a zombie from a horror movie just a little while ago did not faze this creature. Iris? Interesting name. Xander wondered if there were enough people like her, where she was from, to form towns and cities, the thoughts were exciting. He followed the satyr, his eyes meeting the familiar building. He felt quite at ease here, but kept his mouth shut about the place.
"Please just don't grab anything too flashy, if your going to get me a change of clothes" Xander wasn't expecting much from the clothing he would receive from Iris, but he felt indebted to her already even just for the simple walk they were taking. He didn't know if she was just going to go run off and grab some garbs, or bring him a choice, either way. "You know you don't have to offer me clothes right? I can work my way up from this," Xander grabbed his shirt, another piece tearing off from his midsection, before actually untangling a thread, and then pulling upward from the side hem. It spread upward, and 'cut' through the edge of his shirt, leaving a shirt 'flap' instead of a shirt. The garb attempted to fall of his person, but he quickly grabbed it holding it in place. "Uhgh.." Xander looked at the shirt, a slight aggravating tone appearing under his breath.
Xander let go of the shirt, letting it sit on his body, hoping that without extra momentum it would stay in one piece, but surely enough a matter of three steps forward, and the shirt, or whatever was left of it, slipped off his skin, being caught by a bit of the wind. This was the first time in a while he actually got to see his skin, although none of it seemed to change, he was still a young man, with strong resilient skin, he couldn't get over the amount of dirt on his chest.
"Would there be any possibility of taking a bath?" Xander asked her curiously,
"I hate to ask, but, look at me" Xander moved his hands away from his chest to show her just how dirty he had become from the grave soil.
"I just hope the pants stay on," Xander laughed a little, becoming slowly more comfortable with Iris.
Upon entering the room, and Iris darting out, he looked around it curiously. He made his way to the bed, the comfy looking bed. He did not want to sit on it, lest all the dirt on his person fall onto the clean thing. He simply put his hand on it, resting it there. Feeling the warmth, and for some reason, it made him feel more alive, more like a person. As awkward as it was to think about, this bed had probably been with Iris her entire life here right? There were a lot of memories, he was sure, a lot of warm, or even cold ones. He couldn't remember how it felt to sleep in a bed, and he fought back many urges to hop onto it.
