Date: 23rd of Sato 747 OD Time: Mid Day Tag:@tacticalsquash Yuki had been taking her afternoon tea on her balcony that overlooked the garden, she was trying some of the new teas that she got while figuring out which ones she should have prepared for the party and then also the what snacks would pair well with tea. Currently on the paper in front of her was all the sweet teas in one section with arrows pointing to it for what snacks works pairs well with it. She had most of it had down from the sweet teas, to fruit and even the more bitter ones all with snacks that pair wells with the tea. It had been two weeks and as sad as she was getting tired of tea she been drinking more than her normal five tea times a day. In a small fit of rages, she took all the papers and threw them over the balcony watching as the papers seem to filter down into the garden in the ways of the breeze. Realising her mistake, she climbed into the balcony as she summoned a bit of mana and used the flight spell before jumping off allowing herself to float down to the ground instead of falling. Once her feet were on the ground she started to pick up her papers as she gathering them in her hands. Standing up she dusted off her dress that day she was wearing a simple blue and white making it look almost like it was a simple two-layer style dress. The neckline was dark blue in colour, the dress went down with the inner part being pure white hugging her small waist before flowing slightly over her hips, while the top part was blue with simple string corset design that had no bearing on the dress other than a simple design. The sleeves were a long enough to cover her arm up to her waist, reaching up she brushed a bit of hair behind her hair as she looked back up at her balcony. Yuki sighed as she looked back up at her balcony not even paying attention if someone had seen her use magic to float down from her balcony. Outfit: Dress

Aireth, in all his infinite wisdom, had decided he would walk around the gardens. He had left most of his stuff back at his place. Today he brought just his Rapier, which never left his side even if he wanted to, his unfinished book, a quill and inkwell. It was a pleasant day, so he fancied writing while outside. He found the sweet smell of the flowers helped him focus. He took a seat at a bench near a rather pretty bush in full daylight. Quill and ink sat beside him, Aireth cracked his book open and thumbed through it's pages. He began to read over a page he did on arcane circles when a soft fluttering drew his attention, a random page landing on his book.
Aireth picked it up and turned it over to see a few names and arrows pointing to assorted fruits and other snacks. He recognized a few of the names as local Teas. He raised his attention to look around him before looking up higher. His heart skipped a beat as he saw a woman in the air, his first reaction was that she was falling to her death, but he quickly realized she was gently floating. Shutting his book and pocketing the quill and ink (Or rather, sticking them into a small case and slipping the case into a pouch on his belt) he made his way across the garden to meet the woman. Bringing the paper with him, obviously. Perhaps it belonged to her and she dropped it while she flew.
"Excuse me," He called out, raising his hand that was holding the paper, "I think you dropped this!"

Turning her eyes back to her papers she started to count the different pages, seeing that she was missing a paper she was about to start to panic wondering where the page might have gone when she heard a voice call out to her. Turning she came face to face with young man with the most interesting coloured eyes she ever saw she was thankful that she had wore her heels that that so that she was standing at the same height as a man. Brushing a loose lock of her hair back before taking the table the paper from the man. “Thank you.” A small blush rose to her cheeks as their fingers touched for those few seconds. “I’m glad you found this I didn’t want to start over on my research.” Yuki tilted her head to the side wondering if he had seen her using magic just now. It’s not that she wanted to hide her magic but she wasn’t a full fledge mage yet and still had much to learn.

Aireth glanced over the paper briefly as he held it out, flashing her a gentle smile. He wasn't able to make much out of it in the half second he had before it returned to the woman's possession. "You're quite welcome, miss." Aireth saw her cheeks darken slightly and he gave a soft laugh. "Starting all over on research is quite a pain, if i say so myself. There have been times where I had to scrap a project and it's quite frustrating."
With his book tucked under his arm and his hand resting casually on the pommel of his rapier, Aireth held his free hand out to her. "My name's Aireth. Aireth Handler."

Adjusting her papers so that she had a free hand she extended her hand to his and shake it. Though she did wonder if he was a nobleman or just a wealthy merchant she was going to guess maybe the first one based on his clothes and the manner of which he spoke but of his title she wasn’t sure if he was above her or the same as her. “It is nice to meet you Lord Aireth. I go by Yuki, uh Baroness Yuki of the D’Avranches family.” It was an old habit of that was drilled into her to give her title upon introductions with new people.
“Would you like to join me for some afternoon light lunch or even just some snacks and tea.” She offered as a small thank you since it was mid day and she had not had lunch yet but she was open to having tea and some snacks with someone since it was more fun to have tea and snacks with someone thank alone.

Aireth bows his head and tucks a shoulder down in a light bow. "Nice to meet you, Lady Yuki." He raised from his bow and tucked his book under his left arm, his left hand casually placed on the hilt of his rapier. He gave her a smile and nodded. "I'd love to have a light lunch with you. I haven't really given myself some down time lately. Where would you like to go?" He asked, walking with her to wherever she wanted to go.

Yuki smiled glad that he accepted the offer for lunch, since it was a nice day for the most part she decided that having lunch in the garden wouldn’t be too bad compared to inside locked away behind doors. “I’ll just have to send words to my handmaiden that I’ll be taking lunch in the garden and have something prepared for us.” She replied before giving a small curtsy. “Just give me a few moments I’ll be back very soon.”
After receiving his respond she left heading inside to first calm her handmaiden who was most likely goanna skin her alive for ‘magically’ disappearing from her room and reappearing outside her own bedroom door when she was last on the balcony. Once that was taken care of she told her that she would be having lunch in the garden today and have enough made for two since she was going to be entertaining a male guest, of course that cause her handmaiden to go crazy and even tried to get her to change her dress to better fit the lunch. Yuki was thankful that she was able to convince her that it wasn’t anything like that she her dress and hair was fine.
Heading back to the garden she smiled when she saw that Aireth had decided to wait. “Sorry that took so long. We can head to one of my favorite locations out here. It is surrounded by the most beautiful white and blue flowers this time of year.” Smiling brightly, she lead him to a section of the garden where some tables were set up weaving they way though until she came to her spot as she called it. Under a tree shading them from the afternoon rays was a small table with two chairs, on the left of the table was a small bush that was now blooming with white flowers that gave of a refreshing scent just a little behind the tree was another bush with blue flowers. “I hope that this spot is okay it find it relaxing.” She said as she took a seat.

Aireth held his hand up, fingers upturned as a friendly gesture. "No rush my dear, I'll be fine." he stated as she left. He pivoted in place so the sun was behind him, rather than stabbing him in his eyes. She was far more....formal, for lack of a better term, than he was. Handmaiden? Not that he didn't have the option he just tended to do his own work. However, he likely would have starved many times had his not interrupted his studies on occasion.
He removed his book from under his arm and opened it, reading a prior chapter in search of errors and ensuring his information was correct. He stood there fairly still, one hand holding the book, his other casually placed atop his rapier, for the few minutes he was alone, only moving significantly to turn the page. He heard the gentle footsteps come around the corner before she spoke. He took a quick moment to finish the sentence he was reading before snapping his book shut and tucking it back under his arm, turning back to face her as she approached. He returned her smile and shook his head, accompanied by a dismissive wave of his free hand and a chuckle. "It's no worry. Gave me a brief time to check over my work." he explained, walking alongside her to the designated spot. All the while keeping her to his left, as any true gentleman would while escorting a lady.
"This spot, as any you would select I'm sure, is perfect." He stated, seating himself near her.
(Man, it's hard to write a "proper" person. My particular style is pretty haphazard.)

“So, tell me a bit about yourself Lord Aireth.” She asks with a small question wanting to know a bit more about him. What she really wanted to find out was his title and what business his family might do and go from there since it would be easier to open a conversation about business and something else. Plus, there was going to be some time before lunch was served so she wanted to get to know her dinning partner a little bit before their started eating.

(Oh boy, now i need to actually find out what he does.)
"Well," he started, placing his book down on the table just to his right, "My family owns a couple businesses around Nova. The Blacksmith on Central, a pottery, a pair of bakeries, 4 farmlands on the outskirts, and a logging camp. I, myself, am working on a compendium of magical items." He gave his book a soft pat. "It's surprisingly hard to track some down." It may be a hassle to track down many of these items, but that's what he thrived for. "Beyond that, I'm a renown duelist. I've yet to be bested in a fair fight. It's been some time since i had a good bout, however."
Aireth briefly thought back to his previous duel. Some prick who'd decided to talk some mad shit. The battle was short lived, it seemed like his first time with a sword. "So, tell me about yourself. What was it that you were writing that wound up airborne, if I may ask."

“Oh, that your family are merchant?” She asked out of curiosity since based on the all the information it seem that his family business was more mercantile compared to a single set business it did make sense as well since she didn’t recognize the family name that they done enough work and earn enough wealth to have either been given a noble title or done something that gotten them favor of the kingdom. “I didn’t know that you were a duelist I would love to watch one of your duels in the future.” Yuki was a little excited on seeing his in a duel since it would be different than seeing guards practice or when she was practicing with her daggers to learn how to fight. Dueling was much more graceful almost like a dance with two fighters who used they blade to create a dance of two souls.
“Oh well I am hosting a tea party later next month. I have been sampling different teas for most of this month and which snacks goes well with it.” She replied flashing him an innocent smile. “My family happens to be one of importers and exporters of tea and tea related products in Nova. I wanted to introduce everyone to some of the new summer ice teas that we have recently gotten a hold of.”

Aireth nods. "Yes, My family came from a line of blacksmiths. But we've since expanded and bought out businesses in need. My father was quite good at taking failing businesses and turning them around." He explained briefly, pausing to allow to continue. Regarding his duels, Aireth shrugged. "I haven't been in one for some time. I keep up my practice when i can, but i haven't had a good challenger in months. I've been contemplating going for a round in the Arena, however that's not the same as a duel." He wasn't wrong. He's watched a few battles and the entry matches were always against large creatures. During one of the matches, Aireth witnessed a rather stout man take out a creature more than twice his size by changing into a large bear. It was quite the sight. Aireth found himself lost in thought for a moment, wondering what ever happened to that strange man. He shook his head quickly to bring his thoughts back to the present. "Not sure fighting a giant bear would be the same as an actual person." His comment was followed by a chuckle.
"Oh, teas? I hope you're finding some good things for the summer teas? I'll be pretty glad to test out a few, give a fresh opinion on it. If, that is, you would want it."

Yuki nodded her head as Aireth explained his family history a bit more it did confirm her earlier thoughts on his title and how his family earned one. Listening a bit more as he spoke of the duels and how he wished that he could take part in the arena to show off his skills but fighting a bear was different than a person she thought for a second. "How about maybe competing in the champion selection, you would be fighting against another person from what I heard. Though depending on who you want to be champion of it could get messy." She said honestly since she did not attend last year's champion calling but from what she knew it didn't change much each year.
Before she could comment on the offer to help her with tasting some of the teas her handmaiden came down the path with another servent behind her who was carrying a bottle and two wine glasses and also two trays of food. They placed the trays and the rest of the items down before them, as they uncovered the trays the scent of roasted hen difted to her nose making her feel more hungry but she did restrain herself as she looked at what else was on the plate. Besides the roasted hen, there was mashed potatoes with a light sause and a slice of freshly baked bread with butter. The bottle of wine was placed in the table between the two of them and a glass was poured for each. With a promise from Yuki to her handmaiden that she would call if needed and she would see her before the evening meal before they left. "We shouldn't let the food get cold. But back on the topic of the teas. I found a few ones that taste just heavenly that it is before for those hot days this season." Her hands moved with the grace of a lady as she picked up her fork and knife and slowly started to cut the hen. "Is there anything you would like to know about me Lord Aireth?"

Aireth contemplated the mentioning of Championship. "You know," He paused, still in thought, "I have considered Championing Saden. He has an interest in magical artifacts much like me. But the Champion's Call isn't for a year or more still, correct?" Aireth asked, The thought was exciting to him. His understanding was that he would seek out magical artifacts for Saden, of which he could further complete his book.
Aireth leaned back slightly in his seat as the plate was placed before him, giving a small smile and a nod of thanks to the handmaiden. Taking the folded cloth, Aireth flicked it open before tucking one corner into the high neck of his blouse. From there, he commented while reaching for the utensil. "I assume you mean hot teas? Or do you have some teas that are chilled for those less than ideal warm days?" Having cut off a slice of the hen and already shoved it into his mouth when she asked her final question, he held up one finger as he chewed. After swallowing, Aireth nodded his head. "Yes, actually. I do have some questions. You can use magic, correct?"

“Champion of Saden… I believe Duchess Wuard is his current champion. You will have to fight her to gain the title.” Yuki shook her head at the mention of the champion calling being a year away. “No, it is this season I believe.” Normally at this time, there would be signs up announcing the champion calling though the Blossom Festival did just happen not that long ago so it made sense if they were not doing the Champion Calling at the normal time this year.
She shook her head again, “No not hot teas but a cold one. I found a way to make chilled teas as a way to combat the heat that normally in the day.” She said smiling brightly since this could be a success or a failure depending on how some of the other nobility took the idea. She only prayed that they didn’t mind the idea too much since this would not only reduce some of the beach trips but can also be enjoyed on the beach and no one would have to worry about they tea getting cold since it was meant to be drunken cold. She was in the middle of chewing her food when he asked if could use magic coughing a bit as she quickly swallowed the meat she was eating. Her eyes dulled down a bit. “I don’t know what you are talking about I’m not a mage.” She said as she wiped the corners of her mouth wondering why he would ask something but for now, she would remain calm and pretend to be stupid on the topic.
