It wasn't until days after the attack and the immediate corpse cleaning was completed that Adrain had a chance to survey the area beyond the perimeter of the city. A few varied undead bodies were still in the woods, which Adrain would burn to remove the corruption properties. As he approached one of the larger farms close to the city, he frowned at what he saw. His vision he had was correct: the soil and the ground itself was tainted with shadow energy and food would either fail to grow here or be contaminated. Livestock that fed off the grasses would get sick and die or turn undead. Perhaps both. In the vision, he saw a food shortage happening causing a potential rioting in the city since as per standard the royals would get first food and it works it's way down to a shortage for the underprivileged. That was the worst case scenario anyway. Perhaps massive importing would happen but then taxes would go up and economic turmoil would be potentially as disastrous.
Adrain decided that he would have to get the senior mages at the Arch to go throughout the country side in groups with enough guard to protect them from obvious situations. That would require a substantial amount of coordination and expense, but it was their duty as magi: to serve the interests of humanity. Plus rioting in the kingdom would cause problems for the Arch in various ways since nobility was the patrons. It was a necessary evil. The mage decided he would work on at least this farm first.
He knelt down and began to draw a complex glyph, brushing aside the snow to work on the circle and the symbols within. After several minutes of writing and effort, he paused. He pulls a few white crystals from his pack and begins to suspend them in the air in an area around the farm's growing fields. He didn't have the range to do the whole thing in one go, so this would require several goes for a full cleansing. Once he was satisfied with the initial area being covered, he returns to his circle and kneels down as the arcane glyph activates and the crystal resonate and glow.
Black sparkles and patches of shadow energy begin to be pulled from the ground into the crystals much like a vacuum. He would hold his trance and cast for five minutes until there was no more energy in the ground that didn't belong, exhaling as he recalled the crystals back, pulling them toward him. He sighs a little, sensing the energy within, and then puts them in an empty pouch he had. There was going to be quite a bit of work ahead.

Iris had finally made her way out of Bane. The hike was long and tedious, but she enjoyed exploring more than that small area of land. She was used to large forests and such. She figured out the way to the city not long ago, as she’d participated in a quest. She hadn’t been apart of this horrible battle she kept hearing about, but as she neared the farm lands the aftermath grew more and more obvious.
Iris existed a small forest of sorts off the east section of the farm grounds, and looked out into the vast and open distances, filled with crops, bodies and the awful stench of rotting flesh. Iris raised a hand to cover her overly sensitive nose and trotted out a little further into the fields. If she wasn’t mistaken there was a man in the distance, still alive. He looked like he was concentrating on something, but she couldn’t tell what it was. As she got closer, she recognized him as Adrain, their leader from the quest she’d been apart of. He was probably doing some sort of magic, but why was he out here all alone?
Iris moved further out, intending to join him and find out why and what he was doing. A large wind blew in the open area, causing Iris to move her hand from her face to tighten her coat around her shoulders. Thankfully she had her fur too keep her lower half warm, but the top half kept freezing. Once her coat was tightened again, she placed her hand back over her nose, the smell was just too strong.
Once she finally reached Adrain, she cleared her throat to announce her presence from a few feet away. “What are you doing?"

Hearing the sound, Adrain turns to Iris, taking a moment to recognize her since she had the coat coiled tightly around her frame. But the frame, horns, and goat half sort of gave it away with the voice. He smiled, pausing his work as he turned to face the satyr.
"Oh hey Iris, how've you been?" Adrain says greeting her before addressing the question that she had put forward. He looks at the glyphs and the crystals hovering thinking of the best way to explain what was going on since Iris didn't seem overly acquainted with the magical side of things from the earlier mission.
"Ah well, you see...a couple weeks ago, there was an attack on the city with the hordes of undead. A red fog which was responsible for animating the undead ravaged the surrounding land, also infecting and poisoning the farmlands. After the undead were repelled and I destroyed the fog with a powerful spell, the city managed to clean out the corpses and rot around the city proper fairly quickly, but with the Midwinter holiday the surrounding lands had sort of not been as quickly taken care of. I came today to examine the effects on the area and came to the conclusion that if something wasn't done, then the farmlands would be infertile and there would be a food shortage later on and a number of obvious problems with that." Adrain says with a downcast look at the farm.
"I hope we caught it early enough such that the senior mages of the arch and myself can reverse the situation before Spring and the planting begins...but it will be a fairly labor intensive endeavor, especially with a limited timeframe." he says, before he pauses and then looks at Iris.
"What about you Iris, what brings you out to the farmlands? I'm actually very curious about you, you're unlike anyone I've seen before thus far. Where are you from exactly?"

Iris shrugged. “Been better, been worse. Kinda just roaming about right now. Yourself?” Iris wasn’t one for small talk by any means. In her original language, there wasn’t much room for such chatter, so adjusting to it was odd.
“Yes, I’ve heard of this attack. Knowledge like that spreads fast, no matter where you go. You are a responsible man, thinking of such things during a holiday. Not that I knew there even was a holiday." She sighed. “Such a strange world— having holidays sporadically and randomly in the middle of seasons. For no reason at that!” She shook her head.
“People here seem very determined with their jobs, I’m sure the people you speak of will fix this problem before the spring comes. With the way this winter is acting, you have plenty of time. The trees say they have no intentions of blooming soon."
When he turned the topic of conversation on her, she tilted her head to the side, and golden locks of hair fell over her shoulder. It wasn’t often people chose to ask her how she was doing. “I didn’t know these were farmlands. I’m just roaming like I said, learning the lay of the lands. I’m not sure if this is a taboo to say, but I am fated, not even three months now. I have much to learn of this world." She scrapped her left leg against the dirt in a very goat like fashion, without even noticing it.
“I doubt you’ll see anyone like me in your life time. I’m known as a Satyress back home. And home…. well I don’t know what the world was called. I just know the cities and countries. My people never got so far intelligently as to name our worlds… I’m from Roma and Graecia. My body seemed to know your strange language once I arrived here, but some words didn’t seem to translate over. Perhaps there are not words for the places I am from however. Like I said, this place is not the same. No waring humans, not colonies of creatures, raging kinds or pestering oracles. The gods are the same though. Different names and symbols, same bullshit treatment and personalities. I'm from a time before these... bathrooms people speak of, or...magic?"

"Some ways good, some ways busy." Adrain says rolling his shoulders for a moment in indifference. He felt like the answer was a slight cop-out but it was truthful enough. There was something about her accent though that made her speech surprisingly pleasant to hear when there wasn't a rampaging golem to have to deal with. He had noticed it when they first met at the bar but the time wasn't very good for social chatter.
"Well, I like to think of it as this year there is a remembrance for the soldiers who died holding off the siege. In any case, it's not the worst thing to give people some time to unwind and celebrate. I'm sure the merchants enjoy selling off things in the worst case." Adrain says in response to Iris' criticism of the idea of the Midwinter Holiday. "What holidays do they have where you come from?"
"Well we can only hope, I'm not completely sure the scale of the damage is, but it's better than sitting idly. he says in response to the work and dedication. He watched her hair sway for a moment as she moved, explaining that she was Fated. Her movement with her foot caught his sight for a moment. She was really interesting, definitely unique as she would shortly say.
"I think I've been told of that vaguely, I've spoken with a number of fated to learn about their worlds, it's always interesting to compare. The names Roma and Graecia sound vaguely familiar...something about a marble heavy culture, loincloths, and a chief god who can't seem to keep it in his pants and causing havoc as a result. The people here have been known to war though, this world has a number of comparisons to the things you mention from time to time, I imagine there were quieter times home too, no?"
As Iris mentioned the gods were the same, bullshit and all, Adrain actually laughed a bit openly.
"I have to agree with you, gods are confusing to understand. One moment they're content to ignore, another they're trying to murder a city, and yet another they appear in the middle of one's shower and pull you away in the nude to a force date with someone that is equally reluctant."
Adrain admittedly couldn't really imagine or reply to the comment about a lack of bathrooms. Magic at least he had something to work with.
"Magic really isn't that complicated, everyone can become capable in it if they wished. You could even help with my project here with a bit of training. You just have to feel the energy in the air around you and channel it through your being."

Iris shrugged. “We celebrated birthdays, and had parades to celebrate our emperors and kings. Aside from that; not much.” She really didn’t see the fuss about holidays. Iris looked around the farm crops around them, admittedly saddened by how dreary the picture was.
“You’re a good man for doing this, I hope you’re aware of this. Many people won’t even know to thank you, they live so blind in their lives, thinking it just went away.” Iris shook her head, people who sad idly by and watched others do the work, bothered her.
Iris smiled as he said her home names. “They do? I doubted anyone would be from the same world as me, when it is obvious there are so many.” She laughed. When he went on to speak about her world and its Gods, she laughed aloud once more. “That is the perfect description! “Couldn’t keep it in his pants.” That’s Zeus for you. Too horny to live without lust and sex.” She shook her head once more, smiling like a fool.
“Yes, there were quieter times. Wars come and go. The people there are adjusted to such life, however.” She sighed before Adrain laughed, causing her to smile again. His laugh was almost contagious. “That’s an interesting string of events you have displayed there! Something you need to talk about?” She laughed, poking fun at him.
“Anyone can? Than what makes magic so magical? I don’t think I understand the concept anymore…” Iris looked incredibly confused. Magic was supposed to be rare, incredible! Not common and learnable...

"That makes it more straightforward I suppose versus having to learn a few sets of rules and cultures. Still, there's no reason not to try to enjoy yourself a little if you find yourself amidst the happenings of a holiday. For example with Midwinter, it is a time of sharing and gifting. Is there anything you require by chance?" he says, vaguely hinting he might be willing to get Iris something as a friendly gesture.
As Iris praised him for doing this, he nodded slightly, lowering his head.
"I suppose so. I believe that it is the role of mages to make certain they do their part in the world to better it whenever the chance proves itself. I want to spread the goal and acceptance of mages around the world and hopefully take part in creating a world where magic is everywhere, making the lives of all better. I don't really do it for the recognition from those I help" he says, suggesting he did these sorts of things fairly commonly throughout the area.
"I think the ones I've spoken to are from a future time relative to where you come out from. They have gadgets that even I don't understand that well and refer to your time as a land of myth of sorts. There are other ideas that I hope to meet others about to learn, Valhalla, Nirvana, but I admit Greecia sounds like one of the more interesting ones...I wish I had one of the history books they describe." Adrain states, demonstrating his keen interest in knowledge and other times.
When Iris smiled and poked some fun at the fact that he had something to talk about, he shook his head and chuckled a bit more.
"Not especially but the last is the most noteworthy, there is a festival coming up in the spring called the Blossom Festival where somewhere there is a damnable book that one can write names in to have the goddesses of love and sex try to find their match for. Now they aren't so interested in lifelong soulmates as they are in just the act of sex, so they basically try to hitch up people for the ride...mostly with the idea of spawning new children I assume. The bad part is that others can write the names of others in the book and thus someone did it to me last year where I was treated to the aforementioned abduction to a woman named Lia. She was lovely enough, but as reluctant at idea of sex and it was mostly just a casual date. he says, then sort of realizing he may have made a poor decision in telling Iris how it worked. Too late.
When Iris asked why magic was magical, Adrain chuckled slightly.
"There are varying levels of ability per person, and there is still a huge social stigma. Then there is the fact that learning magic is very challenging to develop real abilities. In practice it is still fairly uncommon at best, but one day that will change I hope."

”I can’t disagree with that; it’s just odd being thrown into a world of gifts and such, when before, gifts were nothing more than a curse being thrown into your life with a pretty bow.” Iris shrugged, pretty set in her ways. When He asked if she wanted anything, she looked at him curiously. ”Well, being new here, I need a lot of things… but my first priority is my sword. I have a beauty back home, but sadly she didn’t make the trip… A friend lent me this one.” She pulled her beginner sword from her belt, and twisted it in the air, presenting it, before placing it back in it’s holder.
She found his speech admirable, believing what he did. What stunned her more was him knowing someone who knew more about her time. "That seems to be a bit more common than I had predicted. My friend, Killian, says he knows of my home as well. From his history. According to you both, my race is that of myth, and doesn’t make it to the future. So I guess I should be happy I landed here.”
When he went on to explain this on coming festivals, she cocked her head to the side in curiosity. Over time her eyebrows rose to her hair line. ”Oh. Well. Good to know my home wasn’t the only one with a God or Goddess of sex. Seems to be quite the popular topic of worship.” She laughed and wagged her eyebrows for a moment, making a joke she would quickly realize was inappropriate and cleared her throat. When he spoke of the woman, Lia, she was tempted to crack another joke, but decided against it just as fast.
”Well.. I still don’t understand it really, but it seems like an interesting concept. Seems like you’re in need of mages, am I wrong?”

Adrain's brow raises when Iris mentions wanting a specific sword. She didn't explain much about the shape or form of said weapon, but by virtue of the fact she referred to it almost like a person and not an object there was sentimental feelings there. He watches her flaunt the starting sword she had, basic by all apparent definitions.
"Well, I actually know quite a bit about metalworking. It isn't a skill I advertise or am known for as well as my magical abilities, but I'm sure I could forge you something if your current blade doesn't work that well for you if you give me an idea of what you're looking for in terms of length, weight, shape, and whatever other attributes." he says with a small smile.
Adrain shrugs when she mentioned the future of her race. "If that's the case I don't know, I'm not an expert on the world you came from but if this Killian guy says so I suppose there is some truth to it. Maybe if you ever make it back you can use that knowledge to keep your race alive. It'd be a shame for that world to lose such an interesting people."
As Iris made comments about Goddesses of sex and the fact that it was a popular bit of worship with a suggestive eyebrow waggle, Adrain debated a joke that instantly came to mind but decided to just let it out.
"You sound like you might be a little...horny with that gesture." he says with a small laugh, letting loose the joke, though perhaps not the most thought out statement. It almost looked like she had something else to say but held back on it.
Asking about mages, Adrain nodded. "There is always room for new adepts of magecraft, yes. If it is something you are interested in I can try to teach you and show you the basics of glyph based magic."

Iris raised her brow, curious about his offer. “Really? That would be amazing. The one I used to have, was silver and blue throughout the entire thing. The hilt was rounded perfectly, with a blue gem at the very end of it, and just before the blade began there were silver crafted wings sticking out on either side, The blade was decently heavy, though thin, and was medium in length, with that same blue colour mixed in somehow. I know nothing about crafting them, so I really don’t know how it was done, but it almost looked like water across the blade, in a reflection. Simply beautiful. It was my mothers actually.” she rubbed the back of her head, nervously. She really did miss that blade. “Really the only thing I could be looking for, cause I know I’ll never replace it, would be the same basic measurements; has some weight to it, not super long, but thin. I’m not sure how else to describe my preferences… I’m sorry.” She looked at the ground awkwardly for a moment, before looking back up at him.
“Make it back?? Is that even possible? I was told I was dragged her by a god and there was no returning! I mean, I’m coming to like this world, but if I could go back, just go get my things…. that would be fuckin great!” Iris lit up like a flame, wondering if Adrain knew a way home that Killian hadn’t. His joke however, brought her excitement down a notch.
“I want to laugh.. I do. But… a horn joke? Really? I pegged you as more original than that! Come on!” If she were closer to him, she may have punch his shoulder, but because she was not, she simply shook her head at him, an unwilling smile on her face.
“Glyph based magic? I doubt I’d be worth pursuing in that department. Magic always comes with a price in my experience.” Iris looked a bit uneasy at the thought.

"Well I can get a diagram from you for a rough skematic then we can figure out the weight, material, and other attributes. I don't know if I can replicate it perfectly, but I shall certainly do what I can in that respect." he says, thinking about the description and trying to get a rough visualization. "You've done a good deal of description, and you can hang around during the crafting process and give feedback." Adrain says with a small smile.
When the subject of going back came up he exhales slightly.
"It is something I have been working on, it stands to reason that magic brought you here, and it can take you back. However, it is going to be insidiously complex since I have to figure out a spell to create a portal to a different world, which involves finding a way to connect this world to another across space and time, then being able to hone in on specific worlds, time periods, and then to do this while having it stable enough to not rip a traveler into shreds in the process. I have nothing definite to show yet, but I do feel like it's possible with the right tools and formulas." he says, then chuckling slightly when Iris gave a sarcastic reply to the horn joke.
"Well, I hope you don't make me bleat for mercy." he says, preparing to defend himself against her charging him and punching him for that second goat based joke.
When she declined to learn magic, he nodded. "Very well, I won't push it but if you change your mind let me know." he says, then looking at the field and frowning slightly.
"I suppose that this work can wait a bit, it's nowhere close to growing season and I will have others come to help me when I return to speed it up. Let us see to trying to make you a weapon, yes?" he states as he holds a sphere of purple energy in his hand, his eyes lightning up as he holds it out and creates a rift once more, stepping through it.
On the other side of the portal would be by all definitions a forge. A large room with anvils and heating apparatuses along with tools neatly hung on a wall would wait. The forges would seem odd, having rows of red crystals along the bottom whilst other apparatuses were strewn about that Iris would not see an obvious parallel to Grecian metalworkers.
"If you want any sort of refreshment let me know, this is the Spellforge within the Arch of Ages, it is quiet now due to the Winter Break at the academy, but normally artificers ply their craft learning how to make items of both the enchanted and mundane nature." he states as he takes off his robe, showing a short sleeve tunic that exposed his toned arms quite well while his hair fell down to mid shoulder without the hood propping it up.
Adrain walks toward a desk and pulls out a quill and parchment with a ink vial to weight it down then going over to a large cabinet, opening it up and looking at the various ingots of metals within, picking up a cobalt one and examining it.

Iris looked at Adrain, curiosity clear on her face. “That’s incredibly generous of you… I’m tremendously grateful, but I must ask; why? You hardly know me.” Iris’s voice was still pretty muffled as her hand continued to cover her nose and part of her mouth in return. She wasn’t turning him down, but it was rare someone handed you a present and didn’t want anything in return.
The subject of “home” brought her spirits back down. There was no clear way yet, Kail had been right. “Well, thank you for doing so, I doubt anyone would have thought of it, or ever even tried to… Again, your generosity is astounding…” Iris sighed, immediately regretting so, as the smell filled her nose and she could almost taste the rotting flesh. She cringed slightly and held back a gag.
She almost gagged again at his next attempt at a joke. “Your humour is relentless!" She watched as his body tensed slightly, wondering if he thought she’d attack him after such a horrible joke. “Honestly, I’m inclined to slug you after something that awful. Are puns your only material?” Iris laughed before coughing, getting shivers down her spine in disgust of the smell once again. Shaking her head, she listened to him speak.
“You’ll be the first to know.” She nodded her head in promise, looking around at the vast field with sadness in her eyes. These poor people, used even after death. They’re poor bodies, ripped from piece, forced to act on someone else’s will. It was sickening really. “Getting help seems like the right thing. There’s a lot of ground to cover…” she murmered to herself, not noticing him make a portal again. When she did see it, she jumped, removing her hand from her nose. Instantly she leap thought the glowing circle thing, unable to hold back the final gag.
She stood up, catching her breath, looking around her. “This place is pretty neat… And could I have water please. I need to get rid of that taste of rotting flesh. The smell was so potent…” Iris shivered again, the smell lingering in her nostrils. As she looked around, she saw him take of his robe, noticing his hair for the second time since meeting him. “Your hair makes you look kind of like a woman.” She stated, blunt as could be. It was partially the truth, but she mostly said it in return for the animal based jokes. Following his lead, she removed her own coat, folding it over her arm and revealing her pink and blue top-of-sorts. She’d made it a year or so ago, just needing something to wear when she wasn’t binding her breasts down under her armour. On her wrists were blue cuffs to match the string and lining on her top. Thankfully, pants weren’t a thing she worried about, though she could wear some if she chose, or a skirt of some kind, like all the other women of her race did. She always found them annoying however- just another piece of fabric to worry about.

As Iris asked why he was willing to help her, he laughed a little as he turned to look at her, his amethyst eyes meeting her azure. "Well, why? It's a holiday, but more importantly, I may be just getting to know you, but I like you. I find you interesting, and I love your accent. Plus I am probably too kind for my own good." he says with a small chuckle, closing his eyes for a moment.
Adrain only nodded when Iris acknowledged that it was a notable effort to work on the portal spells to return back to the places whence Fated originated. He didn't see a need to say anything more since in a way it was frustrating to what extent the difficulty of this would be. Words to Iris could not properly express the complexity, and should he succeed it would by far be his greatest achievement as a mage.
"Puns aren't the only material, but I saw you almost laughed from the first one so I had to try again to get it to come through. I'll stop now before you actually do beat me." he says jokingly with a small sigh of amusement.
On the other side of the portal, when Iris announced that she wanted water, he nodded and walked over to a fountain on one side of the room, conjuring a glass made of ice for her whilst filling it with the warmer water. The ice would hold easily without fear of melting from the water's impact upon it. When she mentioned that the hair made him look kind of like a woman, he couldn't help but laugh loudly for a second, genuinely amused.
"Most people like it this way, I've tried to cut it shorter, but it actually grows quickly to roughly this length then tends to go much slower. It's kind of odd really, probably a side effect of the fact I cast spells often or maybe it's just natural for me. But I suppose I deserve that wisecrack for my bad jokes earlier" he says with a soft laugh, then looking at Iris for a moment once she had removed her coat, taking a note of her appearance and non-combat apparel. She had a unique loveliness to her, one that was certainly distinct of a warrioress.
As Adrain looked at the cobalt, he then pulls out a bar of mitrhil, a bar of orichalcum, and a bar of steel, sort of putting together a plan in his head.
"So, the idea I am having is that the blade will be as close to a replica of your other sword as I can make it in terms of weight and parameters, but I would like to also adjust it in a way that you have options if you have to fight here. Unfortunately, if you were to fight a hard target like that golem once more, you wouldn't have much effectiveness with a mundane blade.
Thus I want to add two sockets on the hilt for elemental gems with two separate conduits of Orichalcum woven into the blade such that you can activate elemental gems to give yourself additional effects if you need them such as adding a plasma edge or fire to your weapon. If you insist, I will make it without those features and make it as a straight up blade, but it's at least worth considering.
The cobalt will be woven into the Mithril to provide the outer covering which will make it relatively indestructible and hard to dull while the steel will be alloyed with the mithril to add heft and strength to the primary blade. The cobalt will create that blue effect that you wish from your original heirloom." he says, having thought this through quite a bit since the idea was first proposed.

His answer to her question caused Iris to raise and eyebrow and smile. He was rather straight forward with his answers, and she had to admit, it was nice. No beating around the bush, no half assed answers. ”Okay, aside from the obvious goat parts, I don’t really see how I’m all that interesting compared to the rest of the people in this city. For one, I don’t use magic. I think that makes me rather normal actually. And two, I have an accent?” Iris looked genuinely surprised by that. Her voice sounded normal to her, as it always had. She hadn’t thought to think that these new people would think she sounded different. ”I mean I guess that makes sense… I went from speaking Latin, to… what language is this anyhow?” Iris laughed, realizing she never asked that question before now. She didn’t even know how she knew to speak this language to be honest.
She didn’t mind letting the topic of “home” go. It was clear whatever he was working on wasn’t successful yet, and dwelling on the subject would only upset either one of them. ”Well A+ for effort I suppose. But you won’t get me to laugh with jokes like that. The first time caught me off guard, but I’ve heard more goat jokes than you’ll ever come up with. And do you really think I’d beat you? What makes you think I could take you on?” She looked at him curiously, accepting the glass of water graciously. ”Oh my god, thank you.” She gulped the water down quickly, draining it to half a glass, thankful to get that horrible taste out of her mouth. ”Ohhhh thats good.” She sighed, lowering the glass from her mouth.
She was glad he took the comment about his hair the way he did, keeping her from having to apologize if he’d been offended. ”Huh. Weird. Guys must hit on you a lot when they see you from behind. “ Iris shrugged and laughed a little at her own humour. Sometimes she was even too funny for herself.
She watched as he pulled out various items and such, curious but also adventurous, and decided to roam the room a little bit while he did whatever he was doing. On a table nearby, she found a small pink vile of a sparkling liquid. She picked it up and sloshed it around curiously, holding it up to the light to watch the water glimmer. ”Hey, what is this? It’s kinda pretty.” Preoccupied by its appearance, she slowly walked back over to him, showing him her discovery, her hooves making small sounds on the floor as she did so.
”So you want to replicate my Bellator in style and type, but enchant it with this worlds magic to make it more suited to the monsters here?” She asked, trying to make sure she was keeping up. She assumed “elemental gems” were a type of magical item relating to elements, so she didn’t question that part, and would leave it until later. ”If you think that is best, then I leave the creative rights to you. Like I mentioned, I know very little about swords, aside from how to use them. So I guess I know everything but how to make them.” She shrugged and gave him a lopsided smile, knowing she wasn’t being much help. ”Besides, you just said multiple words that I don’t even know what they mean, so I think it wise if I didn’t interfere… ” She thought over his speech again, what on earth was Mithrill? She shook her head and took another sip of her water, noting how invested he already seemed to be in making this sword for her. A true gentleman indeed it would appear.

"You are interesting because you lived during Grecian times which as I said was a period that I would be very interested to learn more about. You also have the stance and posture of an experienced warrior, but yet you have few apparent blemishes speaking of a high skill level, and yes you do have an accent. It makes your speech sound just a little exotic." he says with a quiet smile, his eyes slightly narrowed. "Generally they call this language 'Common'. There are other languages that I know such as Elven but most people of different races communicate via the common language."
When Iris showed defiance to laughing at goat puns, he chuckled a little, raising a brow at the one comment of 'what makes you think I could take you on?'. "I wouldn't expect a full blown fight, but I could see you giving me a firm smack upside the head. You have that tomboyish streak to you, that's why you're fun. Most of the women I know lately are extra feminine. Can't talk to them or interact with them the same way. he says with a chuckle.
"Well I typically have my cloak up in public so the hair isn't as visible. I can't say I've had that problem as of yet." Adrain says, laughing at the comment. Oh Iris' wit was fun to go back and forth with.
Adrain hears Iris wandering around and approaching while he was making a mental blueprint of the weapon, and when she returned showing him a vial of sparkling pink liquid, he raises a brow. Now Adrain wasn't strong in alchemic knowledge on his own, and at this point in time he CERTAINLY hasn't yet had the effects of that particular mischievous potion impact him since a certain romp with a princess occurs later in the timeline. "Oh that stuff? I think students usually use that as a headache treatment, I know it's been ordered a few times by the infirmary for that purpose." he shrugs, working off his initial reaction to the potion.
"Well the sword itself won't be enchanted without gems, in this world there are elemental gems that correspond to the basic eight elements of magic. It is a common practice to use them in items to produce magical effects without actually casting spells. This allows you flexibility in what you choose to use when you need it." he says then listening to Iris finish her thought saying that she wouldn't be of too much assistance.
"Well once the product approaches the correct shape and size, I'll have you feel it when it is safe to handle to make sure the proportions are right." he says as he then turns to the metal bars that he had laid out and starts with picking an adjusting mold out for the Orichalcum circuit, holding his right hand out to one of the furnaces, igniting the layers of fire crystals beneath to start heating it up. He does the same for two other furnaces, intending to work multiple forms of metal at a time. Once the first furnace was heated up, he used a rolling rack to hoist a cauldron with the orichalcum bar into it, beginning the process of melting it.
Iris would be able to explore or ask questions during the process for now.
